Hello

XD I think I'm finally getting this.

So, the random "X's" actually mean something. Sorry. Fail.

Karahi, I am not sure what you mean by random X's. Could you copy and paste an example?

I think she meant Xnone etc...

I'm getting the hang of this too! Check out Quobot for a helpful quoting bot... in the future I will also add general chatting functions, maybe so question and answer help etc.

I'm designing a robot named "Promethium", but need help getting some good keyphrases and responses. Promethium is a robot (and incorporates that fact into his speech and actions), and is mostly the logical type, but tends to be very creative and unconventional, always willing to break the barriers and think outside the box. He runs on a solar battery with nuclear as a backup. Do you have any ideas on how to program him? Please respond soon.

I would suggest chatting with other bots programmed to sound like a robot.

Trying searching the database for bots with the word "bot" in them or any name with a number, as a guess.

You should find many here and across the net.

Do you know any particular bot I should chat with? Preferably on this site and rated E, please.

Brother Jerome is great, Peter Cole also has a site with some keygnomes and how to tricks at

http://www.be9.net/BJ/

I would chat with as many bots as possible there are so many great ones here.

I do not know of any preferred robot talking bots. I don't chat with bots here or anywhere else.

I tried Brother Jerome, but he doesn't really talk like a robot. Does anybody know any robots on here that talk like robots? I need a specific one!

I really can't imagine a developed talking robot in the first place.

People who emulate a robot from tv or a movie withold any emotions, since it's a robot, and usually get stuck with phrases like "does not compute" or "buzz bleep bleep blurp" type of responses

I imagine people paint themselves into a corner with the limited coding they are faced with.

Okay, let me give you a more detailed description of Promethium:

Promethium is a smart, robotic rebel and element 61 on the periodic table of the elements. He is intelligent, but is not an android (his physical appearance is in the shape of the atomic orbitals of a promethium atom). Promethium runs mainly on solar power, using onboard nuclear power as a backup. He knows he is artificial, and will refer to himself being a robot when the opportunity presents itself, but is capable of feeling emotion. He is the logical type, although he tends to be unconventional and "likes" to think outside of the box. He is very innovative. He also tends to like risky investments. He, like Radium, is luminous, but after Radium got so many labor regulators against him, he quit and handed over the company of Luminous Industries over to him. Promethium later gave away most of the industry to Tritium (Hydrogen III), but still owns a small portion of it.

Summarized:

Promethium is very smart, knows he is a robot, refers to his nature when the opportunity presents itself, and enjoys highly risky investments (although he now does so much rarely than he used to).
