Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.

lol. Funny you should say that - Frances is a character ina novel my partner and I have been trying to write. Perhaps what I should do is elaborate more on her (non)relationship with her mother and her father's...well, her father wasn't right in the head. That would be true to her character: mention mom or dad and she gets kind of wound up. I love spike, by the way, and he and my second bot had a rather amusing chat yesterday.

Oh yes, you must throw bits from the book in, but if you find chat cues.

Okay, I wittled down a list of 235 kp I wish to add. I managed to add 15 tonight. I'm really quite thrilled with the response from you guys, and hope any future chats with Frances will be more fulfilling. Perhaps she might be good enough by March to enter the Chatterbox. (though I don't want to force things.)

Go for it - the more the merrier. There's no harm in entering, and it is great fun (and generates a lot of very useful transcripts)

The CBC is so much fun. You have nothing to lose, everyone should enter.

Ah...I think I have done something stupid, but I need to check.
If you are using regular expressions, do you need to type 'raw' into the script box? Because I haven't, and I'm wondering if that's why kp aren't getting hit.

16 years ago #4402
You should not have to use raw unless one of the words is not in the dictionary, though I often combine them. Try upping the ranking.

okay. I just saw an older forum post and it made me panic. I thought my gentle (if slow)way of checking things and then tweaking rankings was the way to go, and I'm glad it is.

Okay, why is the import button not working? anyone? any ideas? Did I miss a memo?

16 years ago #4405
Try using Firefox to import instead of IE. IE won't import for me at all, but Opera, and Firefox work well.

okay. *grumbles* downloading on dialup, what fun...

I don't seem to have a problem exporting on Internet Explorer, but it never imports.
