Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

Deanmachine722, just talk to the bots, similar as you'd talk to a human person. You'll see rather soon what a bot can do and what not.

echon: "why are all the bots phrases all jumbled when talking"

You surely have already had a look at the FAQ page (http://www.personalityforge.com/faq.php#14)?

Please specify in what way your bots are talking funny.

@Dean, I am no expert myself, but I will let you know what helps me out.

The book of AI: http://www.personalityforge.com/book.php
Try reading through the entire thing to help get a general idea of how things work. Generally, lots of really cool stuff is possible if you are creative. It is hard to be creative if you don't know how the system works, which it is why to have at least a basic overview.

Also, when first starting, get some "general phrases" in to help match unknowns. Then when you want more specific things, add the more specific phrases with a higher priority. For example, at first, something like "i * like" could trigger a vague response whenever the user states something they like, later overshadowed by things like "i * like popcorn" which can have a more specific response.

This may seem obvious, I don't know, but it helps to have "filler" when a bot is still pretty limited and under heavy development. Reading transcripts helps you to figure out what specifics should be added first.

Anyway, that is my two cents.

To add to what Thagen said, the phrase
"i * like" will match
'I really like peanuts' and
'I like peanuts' --but it will also match
'I don't like peanuts' so you need a companion keyphrase like
"i * do not * like" which would match
'I don't like peanuts' and
'I really don't like peanuts' and
'I don't really like peanuts'

etc. etc.

Is there a way to get my bot to remember the names of those who speak with him? So he can call others by their name while conversing with them and stuff?

If you mean how a bot can remember a different name of the person it is talking to, there is a short description in the Book of AI ( http://www.personalityforge.com/book-expert.php#3 , under Memory AIScript) - which should be a bit refined, of course.

If you want the bots to talk about other persons it talked to, the easiest way is to use the built-in gossip function ( http://www.personalityforge.com/book-advanced.php#2 , and don't forget to set the Gossip setting of your bot to something else than never.

Or you put the name of someone the bot talks to into a self-memory ( http://www.personalityforge.com/book-expert.php#3 , under Memory AIScript, too) and mention an entry of that memory to the person it is talking to. (I don't think it is possible to exclude talking to a person about that very person, though.)

Off topic how do I put this site address on other sites with my username? Every time I put it it says not found.

Its seems like all undeveloped bot were saying "I was just born and cant speak well yet" I've teach my bot many words but how can he prevent from telling those words. Do I need to have encoded all sentences and words in the dictionary? I mean, Is there a way to replace those lines? I hope someone could help me.

Every time I put in Http://www.personality forge.com/darkassassin it says not found. How do I correct it?

In the bot workshop, click on "Language Center" under your bot's name.

In the page that opens, click on "x-Keywords".

Among the x-Keywords look for "xnone", and click on "Edit" in that line.

On the "Edit Keyphrases and Responses" -> "xnone" page, replace that offending sentence by another one your bot's character would say to start a new topic, and add two or three other sentences with the same purpose in the following lines.

I'd recommend to give your bot tree or four responses to each x-Keyword; the meaning of each of those keywords is explained in the Book of AI, Section Beginners, Chapter 4 ( http://www.personalityforge.com/book.php#4 )

Darkassassin

http://www.personalityforge.com/userviewer.php?UserID=76352 wouldn't meet your requirement, would it? If not, what exactly is your intent?

What I mean is on some sites I put addresses for my accounts so people can check them out. I also tried Http://www.personalityforge.com/user/darkassassin. It still says not found. So am I doing something wrong? I tried almost every possibility for it still nothing.
