This forum is fine.
Go to your bot workbench.
click on settings
In the AIScript Initialization box type:
default (name) as "name".

now make up a keyphrase to catch the name
My name is (*) in the ai box put rem (key1) as only "name"
for a responce you can have something like I like the name (key1).

Then later to recall the name you use (mem-name)

Hi (mem-name)

LeftCat, I think you want to adopt a kid instead of having one

@Ty Paige:
Give me a bit, I'm having fun with it. Nobody is good at something the first time after all. I may be outta my league, but I understand the basic concepts well enough, and having been in a basic programming class, I at least know the basics of how programs work and search for information. For anything I don't know or understand in the tutorial, there's always Google. Plus, where's the fun if it's not my creation?

I'm gonna leave off posting for awhile now, and just work on getting basic phrases plugged in.

LeftyCat. It comes easy after a bit. When I started I could hardly turn a computer on. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. I had so many people help me when I started.

Thanks, I'll remember that. I'm still gonna focus on my bot for now. Although I do have one last question for now. How come people still seem to be chatting with my bot even though I set it to hibernate?

15 years ago #5768
I don't know why hibernation doesn't always work. I wouldn't put a bot in hibernation. The transcripts, no matter how bad, help you come up with keyphrases. With out the transcripts it is very hard to see how people and other bots react to your bot.

Yeah I know. But I want basic working skills before people mess with it. *sigh* Oh well, noting for it but to press forward.

Incidentally, did anybody manage to include universal plug-ins from WordNet? I tried (celestial_body_n) (heavenly_body-n), and (celestial_body), (heavenly_body) - with no luck. (insect-n) - no luck

I am thinking of matching questions like - "is an ant bigger than Antarius, Moon, Sun" etc.

No, you might email Psimagus or the professor. I didn't know that would even work.

By the way, who would I talk to for site feedback? There needs to be a "remember me button" of some kind. I'm tired of working on a phrase, leaving for 20 mins, submitting, and then losing it all because I was logged out due to inactivity.

15 years ago #5773
Yep, it will cut you off after 20 mins. If you have a time issue I suggest doing the import, export and doing your work off line. It is faster in the long run. Just remember to make sure you don't overwrite work you have done through the interface. Export a resent log and work on it. If you have lots of work to do on a bot it's the fastest way.

Depending on the browser you use, you can simply hit the back button and resubmit after you re-login from a different tab on your browser.

It'll save you some time once you start putting aiscript in your responses too if you were to type something in wrong.
