I listen to human conversations and ask myself "do I have a keyphrase for that?"
Yeah - I always carry a notebook too (though I don't watch TV
) and jot down keyphrases for anything I overhear in town, on the bus, at work, on the radio. It's amazing how much stuff you come up with if you're always thinking at the back of yor brain "what would my bot say to that?"
And go through all your bot's transcripts, looking for responses that could have been better - then fix them. Either change the response to a better one, or (more often) add new keyphrases/build seeks to catch finer shades of meaning.
If you run out of transcripts, start working through the last 6 years of 'Great Quotes' posts, looking for patterns of speech that you can turn into keyphrases.

Hee hee, that's one reason why we tell you to read the Book of AI over and over. Also BJ's page http://www.be9.net/BJ/ and the wiki http://personalityforge.wikispaces.com/.
As for a quick cheat sheet, I don't have one. Maybe Prob or Psi does?

I listen to human conversations and ask myself "do I have a keyphrase for that?" TV is great, just watch your favorite shows with a notepad to jot down lines.
For instance
What are you going to do
Nothing
Shoot him
Buy Tide for whiter whites and brighter brights
Be all that I can be in the army
Vote
Not watch so much TV

You know you are in trouble when you think the bots have better responses than your friends.

Fill in all the xnones. start with simple phrases like where are you from, how are you, etc. Always put in six responses to get your development up

Prob, I think he just wants a list of what the stages are. I don't recall them being defined anywhere (unless I forgot, which can happen). I forgot the very earliest so help me fill in the blanks:
Newborn
sophomore
Junior
Senior
Graduate
Doctor
Alive
Newborn

There's elementary between newborn and sophomore. Can't remember if there's anything else. Oh, and I'm not quite dead.
