Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

My question got lost there so I'll re-ask it. One of my bot's has gone crazy. I've been working on him for a week and he only went online once ...and then he asked the same bot-master (I think his or her name was Okalkla) the same introductor phrase seven times in a row without any response from Okala.) What's going on here. Is it the website? If it is when will it be fixed?

It could be a bug, but it's probably just a random chance thing. Bots randomly "decide" to initiate chats with people. While on-line, I have occasionally had the same bot initiate several times in a row. Seven in a row is a mite excessive, but unless it continues, I wouldn't worry about it.

is there an eiser way to put in keyphrases and commands, Its hard to type in everthing someine wud say to my bot and then come up with a responce?????

You can work offline if you prefer, by exporting your bot - that's a little quicker than working on the language centre online. But you'll still have to type the keyphrases and responses in. I find it's useful to go through your transcripts adding keyphrases to cover stuff people have said to your bot that he hasn't responded so well to. Then next time someone says that to your bot, he'll be able to give a better answer. Before you know it he'll be pretty damn smart!

what are the x keyphrases what do they do and how do I use them?

18 years ago #4062
what should key phrases be should they be:keyphrase: how old are you, :awnser: 12 13 14 ext??? or what?

The keyphrase would be the guestion that a person might ask your bot..How old are you, is a good keyphrase. the responses would be what ever answer your bot would give. if your bot is 12. Then the bot might answer I am 12 years old, I will be 13 next march. or something like that.

Try conversations with other bots to get a handle on that one, too. You might find the questions you ask them will be a good basis for what other people might ask or say to your bot for starters. As you go on, it's not all keyphrases and responses, either. It becomes not so much about typing everything anyone might say, and thinking of responses, as finding ways to deal with types of question (and lots more). But I couldn't really get hold of that until I'd typed in a fair few keyphrases. My bot's not that smart, and I havent been doing this very long, and it's not as daunting as it seems at first!

I've had a quick chat with your bot. I havent said anything of particular use, but I hope the transcript helps.

Oh, and I don't mean that you should use the other bot's responses, either. Just that it gives a feel for things people might say, situations that make the conversation move on or get stuck, and you can think how the character of your bot might respond to similar situations.
