what i dont understand is how come so many cold/cool bots are in the most popular bots list.
One word - "smut" (with the obvious exception of BJ - once again the only male in the Top 10
)

The Professor periodically recycles cold newborns. I don't know what the development cut-off is, though.

Trevorm,
>Many of the bots on this site do suck. Most of them are never developed far because >people lose interest, which is understandable. Unfortunately it does mean that people >like SK can get a bad first impression of the Forge.
Good points, and I agree. The problem with steven k is he really doesn't pinpoint whether he spoke to some of the cold underdeveloped bots, or the most well developed bots, he simply includes all of them in the same category by saying "these ones don't make the cut". Which bots did he base his opinion on exactly? We may never know. He probably didn't speak to any of the bots here, most likely he just did that post as a cheap plug for his website...

i dont think the engine 'sucks' and there are alot of really good bots on here. unfortunatly yes there are really cold ones and really undeveloped bots. unfortunatly some people dont have time or whatever (like me id say) or they lose interest. the prof should definatly send warnings to owner if really cold/put in hibernation or whatever. what i dont understand is how come so many cold/cool bots are in the most popular bots list.

On that topic, I really liked the suggestion a few months back that it might be more useful to have a separate 'popular' list for adult bots, and one for non-adult. Fine, it's obvious that smut gets people's attention. It would be nice to see what else gets people's attention.

I just want to THANK the Professor for all his hard work and wish him luck.
I also want to express my thanks for this site, and say I think it is great! I know nothing of programing or computers...in fact when we first got this one, we couldn't get it to work..picture me laying hands on the machine (in tears) with an angry woman, and the rest of a large family, in the background yelling over the phone, to the clerk at Future Shop, "don't you sell things that work?..when I found a strange switch that said on off..Er never mind, tell him to have a nice day. eh". One year later Bildgesmythe came in third at the CBC..now tell me this isn't a great AI engine!

I've always assumed it meant "Chatbots are the future". The implication being that in the future the sort of thing we're doing today will be mainstream. The Prof certainly seems enthusiastic about the concept.

There is no future. There is only this one, single, perfect moment. Now is all you have.
