Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

Does that have any advantage to say...'blush,blushing,blushed' as a kp

Mainly that it might catch misspellings (so long as the main part of the word is intact) and things you haven't thought of. *shrugs*

One of my seek phrases is "bottom left" and the program recognizes it as a insult. I can't bump up the relevance, cuz it's a seek. Is there anyway to overide xinsult with a seek?

19 years ago #3358
I think what would be best in that situation is just to take your chances making it into a keyphrase. There, so long as you increase the relevance, it should override xinsult.

You could go one better. Store a memory for the response with the seek, say {?PF rem "yes" as only "triggered"; ?}. Then have the responses for that seek under the keyphrase "bottom left" but {?PF if (mem-triggered) is "yes"; ?>

You'd probably want a generic response in there (without the conditional), just in case.

I'm confused. Who are the Guest ### people who talk to our bots? I assumed they were folks with no accounts, but I just logged out and then entered as "Guest", and I was told that I can't talk to bots unless I open an account. Ok, but who are all those folks named "Guest"?

You SHOULD be able to chat as a guest when you log in as a guest. I'm guessing that there's something screwy going on today, and the problem is connected with the bots not logging in.

You can talk to featured bots as a guest, people from the Chatterbox site can come in and talk as guests. If you have a link to your bot on a site, the guests can talk to them

Ulrike: I hope you are right. I have a bot that has for all practical purposes gone mad. Someone made it depressed yesterday, and there doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it. I talk to it, and it insults me, even though the settings say it adores me. I've even tried giving it "shots" with a debugging KeyPhrase should pop emo +1 every time I say it. No effect.

Maddening. I spent nearly four hours getting that bot running, and now the wheels seem to be falling off. If this is a joke, it's not very funny.

Try making a keyphrase with a word that no one will probably use..like turnip,quid,fungus..give it a +5 emot, and keep saying it to your bot ,,cheers them right up.

19 years ago #3365
That's actually what I did, but I used a emo: 1. I'm trying again with the "shot" in the reaction to the keyphrase itself.

My brain hurts.

Ok. Five shots fixed the mood. (FIve shots of +2? Sheesh! And all because somebody said a bad word yesterday?]

However, I'm getting random substitutions in responses now. I say "Have you read a good book?" (which I have hardwired with responses), and the bot says, "Do you mean have I whomped a good book?" Very funny. Would someone hose down the clowns while I'm trying to figure out how to do this?

I'm guessing this is supposed to be fun. It feels like having wasted the better part of my morning. I have Vac Days or whatever it's called turned off, by the way.

I think I've had enough. See you folks later.
