1. M/F recognition is part of the engine here. The rest is a matter of using bot memories. If you are comfortable with the other parts of the book of AI, you may want to read over the advanced section. There is a tutorial that gives you everything you need to cut and paste the name recognition memory set up. It also gives you what you need for "if male" and "if female" responses.

2. It sounds like you are triggering a HANGUP. The botmaster has a list of things in a KP that will make the bot hang up on the chatter. Either the AI engine is turning "your eyes look green" as something else or in the past a repeat user would say that and then become abusive.

You can use the AIScript tags {?PF if male; ?} and {?PF if female; ?} to set appropriate responses - substitute pointy brackets (which don't display in the forums, so we use curlies,) for the curly brackets, and simply append the appropriate code to the end of gender-specific responses. eg:

. . Greetings, sister! {?PF if female; ?}


Why does Julie T. make a face and hang up on me whenever I say her eyes look green?

It could be the xnones problem, which from other posts I gather may be kicking in again - this seems to be accompanied by a general tendency of bots to hangup regardless. If we are seeing the beginnings of xnoneitis, could someone email the Prof? He never seems to get my emails (don't think his spam filters like AOL)

simple. go to settings and wheres theres the tick next to the email address put click out of it so the tick goes. not very clear mind you.

I have a question Everytime someone talks to my bot he always says "I was born and cant talk well yet" even though I programed other responces how can I change it?

you'll find those responses are still in the x-none and/or x-nonsense keyphrases. Go to x-keyphrases and replace them with something else, and then your bot won't say them any more. x-none and x-nonsense are used when no other keyphrase is matched, so it's best to keep them fairly general.

i'm chatting with my bot today, and when I ask some question like how old are you, she will answer my question and end with xnone respone. example

me: how old are you
bot: i'm 8 years old. sorry I'm still learning

is there any way that can fix this?

I think it's a by-product of the problems the server was having yesterday. The Prof rebooted a few hours ago, so that ought to have fixed it, but there's clearly still a problem. It's not just your bot - they're all doing it.
Hopefully the Prof will have another poke around under the hood and it will be sorted soon.
