could be something related to the 'xnone' and 'other bots response' problems that periodically rear their heads?

You really need to read the book of AI, and just replace the I was just born line with some thing else

read the book of AI first. but to answer your question you have to change the xnone to something else. Usually you will want alot of things in the xnone to give a wide variety of options to continue or start a conversation.
