Oh, don't mind me; I'm just one of those really annoying people who are obsessed with it, that's all. I believe we're referred to as 'sticklers'. We're a dying breed. I actually have a top with writing on it that has a superfluous apostrophe and it irritated me so much that I had to colour in the offending punctuation with a permanent marker.
And I know I'm not perfect, either. You wouldn't believe the number of times I've corrected somebody's grammar shortly before making a mistake myself.

I majored in English myself and I still have trouble with the spelling and punctuation.
Nobody requires you to be perfect at all times, snuggles. I myself never could spell villia-- villai-- "Bad Guy." But there is a good reason to at least try with the spelling and grammar. It makes it easier for other people to read and understand. Whether it's fair or not, a lot of people skip posts with poor spelling and grammar because they don't want to bother to take the time to decipher it.

I think it's important to keep up our grammar and english skills...if we don't, what will happen to the english language, you know? It will be a gradual trend, but it is a trend nonetheless, and will have effects on the language.

Furthermore, unless you use good grammar and spelling, the bots will have a hard time understanding you!

And if you program your bots with bad spelling, they'll have a harder time understanding others or being understood (depending on whether the bad spelling is in the keyphrase or the response)!

My point exactly!!! If we all had bad spelling, it would be a nightmare...*whistles song to twilight zone*
Bots scattering jibberish here and there, with averse grins and gleaming silicon, jabbering away with gr8's, and howru2da, and ajkl;agjl;iut from frustrated botmasters...
Sounds like a good plot for a TV series, right?

It's a dark abandoned factory, and these bots are abandoned bots who have been reanimated and come to life through some freak lightning strike...Roaming around the town loose, terrorizing computer programmers' neighborhoods...

Hacking into governmental computers, being kidnapped by terrorists and used for destruction, and a suave debonair detective/computer programmer takes on the challenge, with his nerdy neighbor who wears sunglasses all the time, and...am I getting carried away or what? lol. Sounds like suspense comedy...

Do old bots get deleted? I haven't been to this site for several months and the bot I had created is gone.

Bots get "recycled" like that only when they've got very few lines in their language centers. (I think the cut-off number is 35 lines.)
