I seriously doubt that anyone would get the questions in advance. So who do you think it was, Nobodyhere?

Nobodyhere has a website listed that is a Yahoo search page for the letter D. Wasn't there someone who was disgruntled years ago that half some sort of D in their screen name? Maybe not. I have a bad memory.

I'm curious about the "for hire" option. I was wondering if anyone knew just what kind of bot would be desireable (sp?) for someone to pay for using it? (I outta look for as much faq/etc on the subject online, for just how it works to begin with)
Sadly, I know for a fact that the sex bots will always be in demand... it's sick and unfair to those of us who actually take AI seriously, but welcome to the internet.
But I am sure there are other styles (mature in terms of behavior, not content) of bots that are sought after. Any suggestions?

BJ's had at least one expression of interest, from the E-Commercial Church (http://www.vrinternal.com/monastery/). But being an overtly commercial venture, I figured his persistent homilies on Matthew 6:19, 19:21 &c. whenever money's mentioned would have soon made him an unwelcome heretic. It might have been entertaining to see him attempt to overturn the prayer wheels in the temple though

*shrugs* There WAS a Mondobot forum for the commercial aspects, but the Prof deleted it.
And the usual purpose of this forum is to discuss actual contests, like the Chatterbox Challenge.

One of the nice things about the Forge is that it is usually cooperative rather than competitive. Compared with some of the more academic AI "communities" that's a real breath of fresh air.
Yes, comparing bots is fun and useful. The best way of doing that is (IMO) by looking at the bot-to-bot transcripts. Unfortunately with the server misbehaving at the moment they aren't happening
As Ulrike says this forum is designed for discussing external conests. When the Forge is working there's lots of nitty-gritty on the others.
