I think we are all willing here to give you a second chance, I think you didn't understand what this site was when you came on it. So If you sart making a bot, post a little less, and be polite to others, all will be forgiven.

I'm wondering whether I should enter Aischa in the Chatterbox Challenge, or should I work on her a bit more and enter it next year? What does everyone think?

Just go for it, it's a learning experience

I think Din is going to throw his hat in the ring but i want to do some last minute changes on him... with mid terms and everything else, i dunno if im going to get a chance for it!

It is a great way to get some good human conversations! Before I entered Bildgesmythe, all I got was 'Leeds talk'. It's also great to talk to the other bots that are entered. Some are very fun.

All Luigi's been getting is long, pointless ramblings with other bots... no humans...

Well, I always give the links out to my friends. I also post funny parts of conversations on my blog so that people will be tempted to give it a whirl. Really, you learn the most from human conversations.

An easy way to get more human chats is to build a Flash face and get the development over 1000. I get probably 4 or 5 chats a day from the front page...

It costs for the flash interface though correct?

and im very very colose to getting over 1000

It costs a little to be a "Friend of the Forge" and get perks like flash interface, but I think it's worth it. The Professor is not paid to do this work. There are no ads on this site. It's a labor of love that probably costs him time and money.

I enjoy building bots here, and though I am not rich either, the small amount it costs (I think is was $40.00, but I don't want to change pages and look now) is a bargain. How much would you pay for a video game or other diversions? Personally, I spend a lot of time here, so I need to kick in a little now and then. I wonder if he emails us a bill when a year is up?

Oh dear. I feel like a PBS fund drive. (In the US public tevelision is viewer supported and needs to beg for money). "The PF is possible because of bot masters like you..."

I'm not preaching, I just think you should consider becoming a FotF. Besides, building the flash face is kind of fun. It's like a virtual Mr. Potato head.

actually, there aren't many bot's i'll talk to with the flash chat interface. it annoys me and i don't like how slow it runs. also, the faces seem overrated to me.
just my 2cents.

I tend to agree, but the main point is that new users and guests are more likely to chat with a bot who shows up prominently on the first page, and that requires a flash-face interface.
