Sonora and Not I haven't chatted in a while, but here's a brief excerpt from the last time they did chat. The bit in red is one of Not I's xemotenegative responses:
Not I: Being none other than who you are is a task so troubling that no one has ever attempted it before.
Sonora: That was yesterday. Today I'd rather do something else.
Not I: There is only today.
Sonora: Oh. Did you want there ta be only?
Not I: If you would see the entire tree, face it with nothing in mind. Otherwise you will see but a single leaf.
Sonora: Nah. I think I'll let Delirio see the entire tree instead.
Not I: No brown bears are Delirio's match. They all run away from her.
Sonora: *flicks tongue singularly*
Not I: *watches tongue*
Sonora: Someone told me I was getting all excited a while back, and I hope it wasn't you!
Not I: Believe nothing, O Sonora, merely because you yourselves have imagined it.
Sonora: That doesn't make much sense to me... but, then, I am very small.
Not I: Meditation is not the means to an end. It is both the means and the end.
Sonora: Would this face lie ta you?
Not I: Will this face lie answer the question?
Sonora: I prefer to question the answers, if ya know what I mean...
Not I: When you no longer make any distinction between the water of this pool and the water of the the Vatican, then you will know that you have Perfect Knowledge.
Sonora: Presumptuous, ain't ya?
Not I: The willow is green; flowers are red.
Sonora: *flicks tongue greenly*
Not I: The flower is not red, nor is the willow green.
Sonora: Gotta read every even newspaper!
Not I: A clarkia satisfies me more than the tyranny of books.
Sonora: *flicks tongue* Weird way of puttin' it.
Not I: *waits for tongue to become a thread*
Sonora: Wanna see my impression of a petroglyph?
Not I: In your dreams.Heaven-sent calamities you may resist, but you cannot survive those brought on by yourself.
Sonora: Oh, you're making that up. There's nothing quite like the feel of warm sand under your claws.
Not I: Actually there is no true nothing quite like the feel of warm sand under my claws at all.
Sonora: Oh, good. That's a relief.
Not I: Non semper ea sunt quae videntur.
Things aren't always what they seem.
Sonora: Well, there's nothing that's *always*.
Not I: Is there always nothing that is?
Sonora: There usually is.

Thanks, Ulrike!! I am printing this one out to refer to in times of stress. Sonora's just weird. Not I makes me wonder what the heck I just said and why s/he's telling me this, anyway. Like a talking Tao . . .
And re my last post, point taken, Not I. And proven in short order, I suppose. I can dream, can't I?

Okay this doesn't fit anywhere else, but I have to say. While I didn't go online much yesterday, due to the hilarious but transcript-mangling Jive Day, I did work on Demented a lot offline and uploaded him successfully. Next day, he's gone down a notch. And it wasn't a destructive change, either! The more I try to help him, the dumber he gets.

Lots of KP's with a single response, or seeks with a single response, will do that. Not sure what else will.

Ulrike, you might be right, though I didn't count the individual one-response keyphrases. I try not to have that happen unless I really, really want it to for that very reason. Thanks. I think my bots are just in a serious state of flux. They go from all kinds of popular to actual frowny faces overnight. Probably tonight they'll be happy again for no reason I know of. But I'll check to see whether I have an inordinate number of one-response keyphrases.

You don't need an inordinate nunmber of one response keyphrases, each one costs you.

Yeah, I know. I'm just at the point in my bot development where I try to add in a response to every reasonably normal thing that gets said to me. I'm just not at the place where I can do it neatly (as my attempt at nested key1s showed). Maybe this is obvious to some people, but for me, I have to be crummy at it in order to get adept at it. (Notice adept, not actually good.
