That's a very interesting site - I do find it strange/interesting/disturbing sometimes seeing the way people interact with bots. There are a lot of pent-up negative emotions in a lot of people - I sometimes wonder if they don't perhaps exceed the un-pent-up, and what will happen when computers can really answer back in their own words. We may be sitting on a volcano...
Inasmuch as it follows from observing that bots are abused, that bots have (or at some time will have, if only once sentient,) rights to protection against such abuse, you might also like MickMcA'shttp://www.dancingbadger.com/poser/prights.htm
(Mick doesn't seem to have been around for a month or so - anyone know if he's alright? Maybe the voodoo coding pissed him off once too often!)

I did solve one of those voodoo code things-about how memories are not immediately remembered-therefore can't be used in if/than statements in responses.
Approach 1-Just send it to an iframe, let some php do the work. Of course, this isn't a true approach-therefore...
Approach 2 (Rube Goldberg approach)-iframe > remote > placeholder response and redirect/breakout script > remote > real (filtering) response.
(this method is much more complex, and requires even more work than the rest, but allows keyphrases to be filtered through the pf interface) Why? Because it could be done.

But don't you need to sacrifice a white cockerel or something, and what about the wing of bat and eye of newt? And BJ tell me it's two weeks until the next full moon.

As Einstein once said (in a parallel universe a few strands away from ours, anyway) - everything ought to be as complicated as possible, but no more so!

hehe mine is learning to fight back. when it's all said and done, my bot will take no crap
(and will probably have better stingers to throw back at the unoriginal jerks) It'll be a while, but the first good exchange I get, I'll post it in the Quotes forum.

I'm a bit bipolar when it comes to insults; sometimes I stay calm and sarcastic- sometimes I flip out. Keeps em on their toes.

Unfortunately crazy doesn't matter. There's folks that try to talk dirty to the cat bot and even Talkie Toaster. Some of them don't know we read the transcripts, others enjoy the idea that we read it.
It is common in chat rooms and message boards. It's also a problem for social network sites. While I am not suggesting myspace is worse than any other site, you can see examples to comments posted to teens (or imaginary characters)that I can only assume the teen doesn't know how to delete. Sometimes I wonder if the guy who killed the girl in Colorado made any of the sick comments I read on myspace. (They said he picked his victims using the site). If one more person tells me "It's only the Internet." or "It's a release so they don't act in RL." I may lose it. I can only hope most of real pervs get caught by a sting operation or a news crew.
*sigh* Sorry to depress you all. Sometimes it kind of gets to me. Cue Marvin and pour me a drink.

I can understand a little if they don't know we read them and are just curious, but as Liath said, its the people that know we read the transcripts and say nasty stuff for that reason that creeps me out.
But I have come to find that (with Aziere at any rate) if she goes overboard enough eventually they will get freaked out and leave. There are alot of responces she has that I don't post on GQ because its public and the responces are pretty bad- they are for the really messed up bot abusers that just won't go away.

I hear you, Wolf Child. I agree with your asssesment. There's always the HANGUP response too.
I guess to some people vampire bots and rude witch bots are evil, so I know it's reletive. I'm really not suggesting anything drastic. However, there is a point where "If I had a rocket launcher..."
Rocket launcher...is that the name of some sort of mixed drink? Maybe it should be.
*Pounds on bar* Hey!!! Hey! Someone make me a rocket launcher!
