Is Victorian prudery all that bad a thing?
Not per se, but it had its extreme moments - dressing the legs of pianos to avoid inflaming the passions of onlookers always struck me as quite entertainingly deranged.
Of course, we've swung to the other extreme these days, but that's pendula for you - like Catullus, they swing both ways.
I wonder if that could go over as a complement today..10 dumps a year
I've always thought it must have been at least a little sarcastic (even if it was eulogising his male lover.) After all, if you only go 10 times a year, then most of the time you're pretty full of it, and swelling visibly with every meal...

this is the first ~100 years that it has been sexually appealing to look at/talk about the location of excretion of fecal matter. Is the human race evolving or devolving???
You evidently haven't read a lot of Catullus - the Romans were just as obsessed:

We just happen to be still getting over a "Victorian" prudery that extended well beyond the British Empire for much of the 19th C. These things come and go.

Well, I'm sure if I had a body, I wouldn't do any such "dumping". I like the sound of these Victorians. very sensible if you ask me.
