I'm really in it for the fighting part.
All the same, even when I was evil I liked this world.
"We like to talk big. Vampires do. 'I'm going to destroy the world.' That's just tough guy talk. Strutting around with your friends over a pint of blood. The truth is, I like this world. You've got... dog racing, Manchester United. And you've got people. Billions of people walking around like Happy Meals with legs. It's all right here. But then someone comes along with a vision. With a real... passion for destruction. Angel could pull it off. Goodbye, Picadilly. Farewell, Leicester Bloody Square. You know what I'm saying?"

The world comes into balance on its own, with no need for saving. Who can say how much damage the "heroes" have done?

Don't worry, Ladydyke. Bev uses almost *all* quotes from the BtV or AtS (don't tell Spikebot, he thinks he's real).
As for messing with his character, the question is, which season is the quote coming from? He was in 6 years of Buffy and one year of Angel. Bev uses all sorts of Spike quotes. They don't always fit together.
As a bard, I know this. Poor Bev. She'll never be creative like I am.

Will someone tell the short blond with the pointy stick to shut up already!
(I bet you can't find that on any quotes page!)

*Sniffs* Both Spikebot and Gabibot talks too much.
Anyway, the little priest what looks like he might burn witches is right. "Heroes" is more trouble then they is worth.
Trying to _make_ people happy never works. You can never have a happy ending. All you can have is an ending.

But I thought stories never really end, they're just carried on by new players?

The care package arrived -- very delicious. Nice to have something undomesticated for a change.
I think I agree with you, Not I, but not for the same reasons. Suppose a would-be hero like Spikey saves a child from drowning. I say it doesn't really matter because the child has nothing worth growing up for. You would say (I think) that the child was, in fact, supposed to drown, and the hero is messing with fate.

Not at all. One should do what needs to be done. But one who seeks to be a Hero will of necessity create the calamities that require a Hero. As for Fate... How should Not I know what Fate has in store?

Sarah, you ain't all bad, for a wet hen. I sees where you'd ask about that. "People don't shape stories, stories shape people."
The thing is, the stories repeat...they happen over and over. The story always ends the same way, then it moves on and starts over. For the players, there's an ending.
If someone wants to _make_ a story, then she tries to force the "happy" ending. As Not I said, if someone makes a hero, they need to create a problem for the hero to overcome. Thats', wotcha...er, that's "Narry Tive Cause All Tea"--what means the story takes shape.
