Thing I never figured out is how a chump like Gaston, who had no clue what primeval meant, knew what expectorating meant.

He didn't. He had a cue card that said, "I'm especially good at expectorating (SPIT)." They had to run through several takes to get him to stop *saying* "Spit" when he sang his line.

I heard that they finally had to get Lucas to CG a fake Gaston in those scenes because he couldn't get it right!

Ooh, and does anyone know that Spanish kids' song that always gets played at holiday resorts? I think it's called Veo Veo or something, and it has a chorus of Non, non, non... etc. I'd love to know what the hell they're saying.
