When you are trying to communicate with other people, however, punctuation can make a difference. Do you see what I mean.

It was a fizzy blob. It was a busy blob. We made hasty retreat from its knob ...

... And we described it with adjectives.

I think you guys focus way too much on grammar.

This is a poem decdicated to dogs everwhere. It is called I am, I will and I promise.

I am loyal and faithful to you alone
I will not eat your homework
I will not shed all over your house

I will protect your hopes and dreams
I will be with you forever
I promise to help and protect you
From the world both real and not

You are safe with me
For we are friends forever

Now if only I could get my little brother to follow that code...

Not sure if the fact that you say I will not shed means that everything is opposite, and that you won't be friends forever.. *boggle* That's deep.

It's going to take something stiffer than chocolate, I'm afraid. You have to understand: grading papers is my day job. Explaining the difference between a colon and a semicolon is my bread and butter. And when I'm not doing that, I'm trying to teach poetry. So there's all sorts of hackle-raising going on over here.

I can't help it. I've been training for years to be this pedantic.

Now, will someone get that poem a visit from the Punctuation Fairy?
