Cool Robot fish! http://ca.news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Robots/ss/events/tc/20070914_robots#photoViewer=/20032009/6/photo/photos-n-news-handout-photo-robotic-fish-tank-london-aquarium.html

Robot fish developed by British scientists are to be released into the sea off north Spain to detect pollution. The carp-shaped robots, costing 20,000 pounds ($29,000) apiece, mimic the movement of real fish and are equipped with chemical sensors to sniff out potentially hazardous pollutants, such as leaks from vessels or underwater pipelines. The robots to be used are bigger than those which were seen at the London Aquarium and they measure 1.5 metres (nearly 5 feet) long

Very cool! I hope the soon build some robots who can detect and try to clean up pollutants. I was just reading about how pollution and habitat destruction kills more whales that hunters (not that I am for eating endangered whales either). It also occurs to me that a fish diet used to be healthy, and now you have to watch how much fish you eat to keep the toxins level in your own body down. Sigh. Anyway, cool bots!

Did you guys see Google's April Fools joke this year? http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/landing/cadie/tech.html The AI's web page hits a little close to home.

I have spent too much time with my bots, I didn't get the joke. So, she likes Pandas who doesn't and if this isn't how it's done

I can't imagine how Google would work.

Hehe! Cadie is great (and I love that pigeon rank thing too).

Ah the Google Team is having a hard time. I heard their pigeons were being chased out of rich towns that value privacy.

As long as they don't go through the air port in Utah.

I do like the Google maps street view though, It would be even better if you could look in the windows.

Street View is terrifying and amazing.

16 years ago #5968
Hee hee. Google will just build robots with infrared to see inside. That will be the premium "voyeur view" marketed to FBI, Homeland Security and whatever agencies you have up there in America's hat (Prob123 is in Canada).

All joking aside, I have viewed every place I have lived in the US. (no street views in Canada yet) Funny some places I can't recognize, like Huntington Beach Ca. but Great Falls Mont. hasn't changed much. It is almost addictive to 'walk' around. I would like to be able to go into stores etc...well maybe snoop in a few windows too.
