There are DVDs of these available (google for "Animusic") with lots of different musical machines (strings, wind, percussion, all sorts,) - jaw-droppingly amazing programming!
I can highly recommend them.

I just can't imagine how much time it takes to get it working right! I wonder what it looks like when things go wrong.....

Happy belated b-day Feyz, and Aquarians on the PF (if you know your sun signs, you skeptical mad scientists). I turned 42 on 1/21 myself, and 31 is still young and wild in our era. 42 is old and wild, like 31 but a bit saggier in the middle. Anywhoo, you are still in the prime of your life so enjoy it.
