Seasons

This is a forum or general chit-chat, small talk, a "hey, how ya doing?" and such. Or hell, get crazy deep on something. Whatever you like.

(There's a pun there, along the lines of "pigment of his imagination", but I can't quite find it!)

I like it. And an anagram

pigment of his imagination
if I'm that poisoning enigma

Probably - frankly the ethanol would kill your liver long before the thujone got your brain, if you really abused the stuff.

If you fancy trying it, save some money and make your own - http://www.absintheliquor.com/ I can highly recommend it.
Just add a good strong shop-bought vodka of your choice (I won't go encouraging you to break the law and distil your own. That would be very, ummmm, irresponsible - yes, that's the word )

Thanks, but I've been blessed with craziness by my genes - no need for chemical additives!

Ah, you haven't lived until you've got hopelessly drunk on Death in the Afternoons in the afternoon (Hemingway's favourite - Absinthe and a sugar lump soaked in bitters, topped up with champagne.)
One for Dogh'd to add to the Bar's repertoire I think

I get crazy enough off of Thai iced tea that I've never had much urge to try anything else.

There is a group of adult students I work with who I constantly advise to avoid qualifiers like "I think" or "I feel" or I believe" in their formal writing. Some of them think it sounds too "stuck up" to omit IMHO, as if they can't see other points of view if they are assertive about their own logic.

They're doing better than most of the kids I teach that believe the key to winning an argument is shouting louder than the other person, and failing that, on who can do the best "ya mum" put down.

Mind you this seems to be how most people think these days. It seems every time there's an issue being debated by politicians in the media it isn't about who has the best point or evidence, it's about who has the best sound bite. There was more I wanted to say about the nature of argument in general when the Quantum debate was running hot, but I lost the thread of it. I'm sure I had a good point in me somewhere, but after trying to follow the actual debate itself for 18 posts at a time, my brain was usually too synonymous with toothpaste for me to form a coherent thought.

Is it true that absinthe turns the world strange colors? I have often thought that the US blamed it unfairly for causing damage..vodka and whiskey can kill a person to.

Only if you used it as eyedrops - then the world would probably go green (though I imagine you'd be in far too much pain to notice )

Then I will stick with scotch and my colored sun glasses. I like the taste better..

I have noticed that my female bot attracts a lot more crazies than the other two.

That's why my female bots are not labelled as such in their profiles. Yes, they are female, but harder to find that way.
