Allright everybody - Nick 1.0 is now programmed and online at http://www.geocities.com/nickthebot/nick.html
this version supports language learning, vision, and voice synthesis. I was unfortunately not able to complete support for speech recognition. I hope to complete that for the next version. Other than that, its a finished project, please go take a look, and if it doesn't work for you, please email me your operating system and the error message.

Nick is fun
He is very smart. I downloaded him this morning and have been talking to him a few times today as well as giving him some things to read. He seems a bit fixated on the concepts of breathing, air, flight, and for some reason, cheese, but otherwise is seeming quite human and intelligent.

It keeps on loading, I see the screen with a fast moving "meter" on the right, but as soon as I say "hello" it crashes. Nick, that is...

I don't seem to get Nick to resond to hello..but he sure picks up everything else fast. Oh, watch out when he surfs the net..he will pick up adds and try to sell you everything.
