The most intriguing method of interpretation I ever encountered is: consider each character or object in the dream to be an aspect of yourself.

I might be a little late, but I want to comment on the 'line' between porn and art. I think the key lies in sensuality (excuse me if I spell it wrong). What has always struck me about porn is that it's not at all sensual and just...dirrrty.
I've seen a lot of sensual paintings featuring sex etc. A very famous one is "Madonna" by E. Munch. This one is not so "explicit" in our modern eyes, but it shows a woman climaxing. I don't think it would be visual enough to replace your everyday pornographic material, but this makes it even better.
I think the line between porn and art lies in the sensuality of the picture, but also in the mood. E.g.: Nude-photography can be the most beautiful art, but I don't consider your average Playboy photo "beautiful". But then again, I'm a woman

Irina, I agree.
I keep having this recurring dream that I'm back in community college and am flunking two of the courses because I forgot to go to class or do homework or ANYthing really, and it's almost time for finals!
That one's a no-brainer to interpret, especially considering that last night, one of the courses I was failing was history.

Butterfly dream:
Ah, many students and ex-students have that dream, recurrently, including myself!
Now, if you interpret EVERYTHING in the dream as yourself, then you are also the college, i.e., YOU are judging YOURSELF to be inadequate in some way.

I still dream from time to time that I'm doing so poorly in my classes that they send me back to elementary school to start over. I can trace that dream back to when my 4th grade teacher pulled me aside and angrily held up some unsatisfactory art project and threatened me saying, "I'm going to send you back to kindergarten to learn how to cut!"

What's really bad is that it's community college, which is where you go (at least in America) when you want to go to college (university) but need to brush up on some college prep subjects. I went to regular college later. In the dream, I haven't learned the basics in history (learned from the past).
My new job requires me to cook, look stuff up in the courthouse, and drive a stick shift. I have cooked before (though not nearly enough for it to come to me automatically), but the rest is new. It's a little embarrassing, because I could have learned a long time ago.

Congrats on the new job BD.
A few times I have had the dream that I graduated from college when I find out that I missed something in high school and I have to go back to high school. Odd.

We are more curious about the meaning of dreams than about things we see when awake.

Well, with your interest in bots, Butterfly Dream, perhaps you should get into artificial intelligence.
Is your name a reference to the story about the ancient Chinese Philosopher Chuang-tsu, who said, "Last night I dreamed that I was a butterfly; or is it that I am now a butterfly, dreaming that I am a man?"

Yes, Irina.
I don't think I have the patience to do this for a living, even if it were possible. I barely have the patience for AI Script.

That, too, Greylin, or if you want to get a two-year degree or certificate of some kind.
At least that's how it was where I went.
I'm not rich. I relied heavily on need-based financial aid....and student loans.
