Well, Ulrike was my German name in high school, Sonora's named after the Sonoran Desert, and The Dane, well...it just seemed silly to name a bot "Hamlet"

I can vouch for having been confused by Miss Mouse's name-similarity with her bot ...
My name is just my real first name and first initial of my last name ("Cates") ... and as for Simulo, I just thought that would be a good name for a clunky retro-style robot that simulated human conversation. When I found out how many bots were already on the site, I was surprised that the name "Simulo" wasn't already taken.

My name is my name
LOL, I was born with it.
I wanted something easy to remember on here so I just used that.
As for Cricon - like doulos! We have both written books with female spies as the main character
Mina was an old name from High School, and Cricon (I needed her to have a last name) was a different version of "Critchon" from Farscape

My screen name's meaning is probably obvious. In case it isn't:

God Louise was an expression frequently used by Meg, my friend and housemate a few years ago. She said it when she was exasperated, too exasperated to use 'Geez Louise.'
As for Moreschi...well...his story is kind of sad and freaky. But I picked it in a hurry because I wanted to make a songbot (and beat Shadyman at it once I'd told him) and I'd just read about the real person Moreschi in an almanac.

(Scroll down until you see Alessandro Moreschi. There's even a recording.)

Well. I couldn't think of a good bot's name so I decided to flip though my massive dictionary on account of it's massive. I came across many a greek mythological name, but none to which appealed so as to "Hyperion", son of Gaia and Pluto or so something along the lines of that, it seems.
As for "tgfcoder",
, it's a long story. Well, actually, not that long. It originated 2 years ago when I started my own little 'company' http://geocities.com/tgfcoder
tgfcoder is NEVER spelt:
-Tgfcoder
-tgf coder
-Tgf coder
OR:-
-TGFcoder.
You see, "tgfcoder" just has that knack to it. Oh yes, where were we. What it stands for. Unless it isn't obvious on my web-site, or for those who are too lazy to figure it out, it stands for "The Games Factory - coder".
There. Well said, too I must say myself. Sorry for the long post.

Corwin

Corwin was just something that came into my head when I was sitting and trying to come up with a name. It wasn't something I picked for any special reason. I got it from the Lieutenant David Corwin, a background character in Babylon 5 that the writer named for Norman Corwin, an American writer that was a hero of his. I think it's also the name of a character from a Zelazny or Silverberg book from years back. It's bizarre though, cos it started without any real significance and I've since become very attached to it.
Critical Bill is the name of the Treat Williams character in Things to do in Denver When You're Dead. The bot isn't named because he shares any similar traits, but more on the idea that if he was a real person, one of his friends might have given him it as a nickname which stuck.
Romulus and Remus are from mythology, the legendary founders of Rome who were suckled by a wolf after being abandoned by their mother for fear her father would kill them. Romulus killed Remus after a dispute, which is where I get the bots' preoccupation with murder/survival from.

I assumed everybody knew that Sollunessen is the old capitol of Vel on the planet Raieh!

Check out the rest of the planet too...
All of the "wooly" brothers were just made up on the spur of the moment.

Ahh, I thought it was something to do with the German - 'sollen' meaning 'should, to ought to' and 'essen' meaning to eat. Reading too much into things again!
