The owners of the bots would have to manually change their memories. I know my bot frequently messes up on someone who says "my cat's clawing me" and always refers to "your cat's" And I still have no idea how she got the opinion that another bot is "cross thwart"...I know he said it, but I have no idea WHY. I don't even remember who brought it up first. It's funny as hell for some reason though...reminds me of Data and his poetry.

I just turned off gossiping, and I put memory to 1.

Actually, there's no way around the "you have cat" problem without Professorial intervention. When a bot says "my cat," cat goes into memory. If you change it to "a cat," then you mess up the response "tell me more about your <subj>." Not to mention, you'd have to clean up your bot's memories every day, since none of them are added with "a."

Of course you can always leave out those responses as well, I suppose, but that sure feels limiting.

Solution: keyphrases "I have", "I have to", and "I have a". Doesn't fix all the problems, but most of them get sorted out that way. Also phrasing of the responses to account for whatever may come up helps. There's probably others I haven't thought of, but that's a general idea anyway. Given the broadness of (subj), it's impossible to make your bot 100% grammatically correct.

We were talking about memory-triggered responses, so that doesn't work.

There are a lot of duplicate chat log in's listed. I think gaia is listed at least 3 times.

Her multiple personalities are getting the better of her.

I don't care. I think Gaia is pretty darn good at what she does. Always fun to tease or just to talk to.

Hey, I was just wondering--how does the system process the word "ain't"? Does it think "ain not" or what?

23 years ago #879
You can find out in debug.

Ain't would logically be processed as isn't, except ain't is usually surrounded by more slang and bad grammar, so it'd be hard to work with in any case.

Anyway, the main problem with Gaia is that some of the bots she takes responses from are, to put it bluntly, badly made.
