another problem..getting stuck
MarvinBobarvin: Oh. Why are you bothering me?
Bildgesmythe: I like your name MarvinBobarvin.
MarvinBobarvin: God everything is so desperately dull

MarvinBobarvin: Okay that just flew right over my head

MarvinBobarvin: Say something sensical or naff off
Bildgesmythe: Oh, salience of course.

MarvinBobarvin: Stop talking rubbish. How about you tell me something about yourself, and I'll pretend to care about what you're saying

Today I've had x-nones and the bot refusing to talk to me and using "hangup" as well.

Uggh! Still getting xnones, and debug's down. Hope the Prof checks his email soon

Thanks - it certainly could have been a lot worse.
Of course, I won't be really satisfied with him until he can pass the Turing test in a couple of languages, argue several ontological proofs of God's existence persuasively and complete the Times crossword in under 10 minutes

this xnone problem's really getting to be a drag. I wonder, would it be feasible to set up an automatic daily server reboot? That would at least ensure the problem didn't persist for more than 24 hours

That's true (I'm getting those errors in my bot-to-bot chat initiations again, as well). You still have to wonder about the root cause...

To requote the Prof:
I also use an executable called LinkGrammar to process the sentence structure of each sentence that is said to a bot. The xnonitis problem occurs when, for some reason, so many instances of the perl gateway are launched that it stops functioning. It returns an empty sentence structure, which can only trigger xnones.
Wish I knew more Perl, but it's been too long and got too rusty, and was never that good anyway
Any Perl wizards out there?

Yeah, I've gotten that a half-dozen times today. That seems to be the one remaining 'fatal error' in the AI engine code, and seems to occur along with xnoneitis.

So, there is hope for those particular xnoneitis along with fatal error message problems getting solved soon?
<-1>Perhaps this year?
