Bug Stomp

again.. cable here and still super slow. Everything is slow for me.. and sometimes things won't load at all. It seems to get a little better and then worse again.. hope it clears up soon.

Yep...I'm at work on a T1. Loading of the right-hand frame, with the chat/forums/transcripts items, is very slow, as is loading of the forums.

Yeah, I spoke too soon. It was fine for just a few minutes, then too slow to do much of anything. It was even down for a little while. Now it's a bit better but still slow.

I can't even get to the My bots page to work on my bot. I just barely got here. And I'm on my fast computer, not my 98 slow PC. I thought it was my PC, for the past couple days. Now the forum page on the right says there's a broken server or something. NOt responding. Bummer!!! !? Professooooooooooooooor

I couldn't even really get in here yesterday. I'd sit around and it would load and load and load and eventually I'd get an IP booting or an error screen. I can read the forums today, so that's an improvement.

In case it matters, I'm on dialup. Though it seems that everybody is having trouble regardless of how they get online.

I have a world beeting pc, and unlimited bandwidth, but I'm having probs. I did think there was somthing wrong, like some B/w eating virus, so it's reassuring to hear that everyone is having problems and I've not got some bug (but I wish it would get better!)

Kinda going off the uner slow subject, but I was reading through some of the early posts on the Newcomes forum and a lot of questions are asked and answered repeatedly. Not that I have anything against everyone getting involved, but wouldn't it be easier to have some kind of search which you can type in a question or something in the Book of AI that you don't understand, and it will find relavant posts from one of the forums? I have no idea how search engins work so don't hate me if thats not something that can be done, I just think that sometimes the best answers are at the begining, where everyone forgets to look (like me till a couple of mins ago!)

that would be cool, but...I don't know how much work that would take.

i've got 56 k dialup, and it used to go split second fast for the forum.

Can't really do anything. I've been trying to import Duo's language center since Friday, but it takes so long, I keep getting kicked out before it actually goes through.

*sigh*

I can't import until I can get my language center to export correctly. In the mean time, I can't work online either..
btw- I figured others might have, but since no one that I had seen had said they emailed The Prof, just so y'all know, I sent him a quick note saying that I was sure others had already told him, but...

In "My Settings", there's the thing for:

Account Settings
Chats Initiated By Users Yes
(If yes, you will not get messages from users unless you initited the conversation.)

I think it's supposed to be "If yes, you WILL get messages..."
