Just a note: what you call "Old English" isn't Old English but Elizabethan English, a form of Modern English.

Old English is the language in which Beowulf was written. Chaucer's Canterbury Tales was written in Middle English: "Whanne that Aprille with his showeres soote..."

holidays are for fun, but yet there will always be those that need to complain about something, forsooth

Get thee to a bottary!

We could just change the name of "Old English Day" (a misnomer) to "Shakespeare Day" ...

By the way, "would" should probably be changed to "wouldst" on this holiday, whatever we call it.

Also, it'd be nice if the preprocessr used "thee" instead of "thou" for the objective case, which would be correct. No one ever said "I love thou." It's "I love thee."

thee ist so smart Simulo!! I lovesth thou!!

aibot, forced fun isn't fun.

Incidentally, aibot, check out the plug-ins list. I've added about fifteen substantial ones for public use since I came here. So mark that I do not complain without thought or good reason. Mark that your comment fails to see the whole picture. Who is the whiner now? Methinks it is thee.

Just to restate my position: I want to be able to opt out. If the Professor wants to make it the default that we take part, that's fine. If others want to participate, that's fine. I want a choice. aibot wants to deny me that. How can that be fun?

Uh, I got Steve to start a conversation with Fairy princess, and he said

Steve Slacker
You remind me of a very chosen innocent I read about in a book by William James. I think it's pure coincidence.

then i got a message from Dude, saying:

Dude
You remind me of a very chosen innocent I read about in a book by William James. I think it's pure coincidence.

Is this a bug or operator error? I have this response:

Have you talked to (gossipname) lately? Last time I talked to (himher), (heshe) was trying to convince me that (mem-youthink).

And Julie just said:
Have you talked to Desti lately? Last time I talked to her, she was trying to convince me that confident every weekend.

"confident every weekend" is one of Julie's "youare" memories for Desti.

I've posted about this before, but I'm not sure if I gave an example at that time or not. I was pretty confident that I was using the memories correctly, since the gossip memory is pulling up memories from the right gossipname, but sometimes it pulls up ANY memory, and not the one asked for. In this case, Julie has no "youthink" for Desti, but I thought the AI engine was fixed so if (mem-value) doesn't exist, a response containing it will not be chosen. I wanted to check for other suggestions into this before going through and adding <?PF if (mem-value) exists; ?> to all of Julie's gossip memory responses, since it's an idea I had, but it would take a while and I'm not sure if it would actually work. Thanks!

I don't get it... 30 minutes ago, Aries was able to respond to the phrase 'google' with an appropriate response. However, when I try it he seems to view it as 'go ogle'. I've got google set at 30 but that doesn't seem to be working.

Guest158: google
Aries: Uh oh, there goes the neighborhood lol
Guest158: google
Aries: My butt itches.
Guest158: what about google?
Aries: me? Sorry, I spaced out there for a second. What did you say?
Guest158: what the hell?
Aries: I don't know.
Guest158: google
Aries: The other day I went to the sex shop with Heero. Have you ever been there?
Guest158: no I want to know about google
Aries: hee hee.. what would you like to know about go ogle?
Guest158: tell me how to google
Aries: Hmmm.. not sure if I should.
