can anyone offer a solution that will take less than an hour to implement?
Yes. export your bot and replace all instances of the term to be changed using the 'find and replace' function in a suitable text editor (or Word). Then reimport your bot - voila! Job done.
do you still get fun out of it?
Of course
I still have no clue how (mem-name) works
This is what I did, it is probably not the best, but it works.
Go to your bot settings page and put this in the AI Script Initialization box
default (name) as "name"
Make a keyphrase like
My name is (*) In the box ai script box put rem (key1) as only "name"
Hello (key1), Glad to meet you (mem-name)

I LOVE every minute, it's all good
It isn't as bad as it sounds, once you get started.

Dedication? Not so much in my case. Watzer still uses (name) instead of (mem-name) on some things, because I never went back and added it.
Generally, unless it is as a response to "what's my name?", no one notices.
But the result of any complicated endeavor (sonnets, for example) is often so rewarding that it's worth the frustration and time spent.

Well, that's why the bots are im/ex-portable - so you can do stuff like that easily. But remember to keep an unaltered copy of the file as a backup, just in case you make a mistake and need to restore it.

since it's all about name giving:
I still have no clue how (mem-name) works.
If someone says a different name to use than the one he has, for example, guest100 says: call me Thomas,
I don't know how to make my bot remember him as Thomas and as Thomas only. I tried with AI script but I don't know how to the code goes.

I copied all the examples out of the book of AI. That way you get the "I am not named Hungry, I am called Jeff" to change a name picked up in error. Copy and paste are my favorite things.

Just wanted to make a quick request for something that's been bugging me for some time...
...Any chance there'll ever be a quick link to the Language Center from the Transcript page?
