Yep, I read the entire book completely, but oh well, maybe I'm just stupid or something. Thanks for your help Isaacc. This is a seek to the xinitiate keyword, and the response is "Hey there (name)! I forgot to ask you last time, do you like (star wars|lord of the rings|pizza)?" I put a seek on it for 'yes' and 'no', but for some reason, even if I type in like 'yes, that's right', or even just 'yes', it acts like it doesn't understand. do seeks maybe not work on xkeywords? Hm. Well, I'd appreciate some help very, very much. Thanks!

It's ok, lili. The book can be pretty confusing. There is a lot of information there and it's not always easy to remember it all. Most of us have had to read parts of it several times to get it. There's still stuff in there I don't quite have a handle on.

it's okay- feel free to ask questions. That's what this forum is for, and we're glad to have you here, and happy to help.

(name) will still call up the user's (or bot's) actual name.
I am not sure whether seeks will work off of xinitiates -- though I know they will work off of xnones.
If the bot is delivering the line you wrote (as an xinitiate) and then not recognizing those seeks, then I think it might just not work on xinitiate, because those have a sort of special converational function.
You might try putting that same line of dialogue (with the seeks) as a xnone, and marking it so your bot only asks it once per conversation.
On the other hand, you might want to dismantle that local plug-in later, so you can teach your bot to remember whether someone likes star wars. AI Script will allow you to do that, actually.

You know how the bots were responding to themselves awhile ago? Well, I was thinking that would be a great feature for questions that get asked back to the bot in an incomplete way. Ex:
Bot: How are you?
Human: I'm great. You?
At this point in the conversation, it would be handy for the bot to respond to itself!

I think there's actually some preprocessing that handles "And you?" -- I've seen Simulo handle it quite adeptly in the past, much to my surprise.
