editing memories can be done directly in inner life... as for debug, true, it's hard to see what was exactly said, but I think it's easier to work from the transcripts themselves..

Editing memories in inner life is just a band-aid Working from the transcripts to correct the way memories are stored was what I was going for....like if my bot uses some squirrely memory as gossip, or if I happen to see that a memory in her last 5 chats was stored incorrectly, knowing the dates of the last chats would be helpful in finding the exchange that caused the memory in the transcript so ya can see what went wrong, and fix it in the language center.

And as long as we're throwing wishes out there, I would love, love, love a chat transcript that records separate threads, such that instead of a single transcript for the day you'd have the day's transcript screen show a link for each separate chat, and clicking on the link (which would show the other chatter's name and the time the chat was initiated, for example) would take you to the transcript for that specific chat. That would be helpful for reviewing chats for tuning of the language center, too. I know you can detangle the chat threads from the single transcript, but wouldn't it be lovely to have it done for you?

part of the reason AI has gone on and is has come as far as it has, which isn't as far as we all thought, is from people working with it and doing what they can and not complaining. Great to have wishes and there are ALWAYS those who are trying to push it further which is great too and VERY important. On the other hand complaints may lead to improvements but sometimes they are just complaints. It is a new frontier and exciting!!! Lots of things are "nice" but what do we "need"?

I don't think anybody is complaining here, nor are they wishing for things that are unneccessary. Imagine if our forefathers had all been content to live with fire as our main source of light. Electricity would have never been invented. Now do we need electricity, no. We could get by without it, however with electricity is has greatly enhanced our way of living as well as increased our lifespans through advances in medicine and preservation of foods. My point is, to advance, we do need to continue wishing for things. If not were is the interest in working on something that is just a 'parrot' and can never really learn things. I hope this post isn't taken as offensive, just thought I'd throw my 2cents in.

I think electricity is overrated. I was running on steam power until just a couple of months ago.

How about solar panels?

20 years ago #3646
That's what I was using to make my steam.

20 years ago #3647
Oh, was that steam? I thought you'd tooted!

20 years ago #3648
Tooted?? LMAO ROFL Who says tooted???

Well, the other pertinent terms were a bit indelicate for a public forum!

Of course, flatus is *never* appropriate in public.
