When we have something better to talk about here, we can.

Hey prof, how about making our bots be able to chat with someone? One person a day besides their normal socializations?
Like the bots go and do their thing like they always do, but you can choose one person for them to talk to, like who they never chat to. It's basically like 'guidance'; like saying "go talk to him/her, he/she's nice"

hey guys remember how i said i won this prize package from agentland?
i finally got it today!
bad news is, i can only read every forth in german, i got a copy of nautilus a robot personality magazine they have published in germany, and bot software mmmmmm yummy,
it has:
KI-software, the top 20 chatterbots to talk with, robowriter, deskbots, text adventures u.a. Zork 1-3 (i guess a bots programmed text or transcripts i have not taken a look yet, the myst 3 soundtrack 50 minutes worth!, magic demo, arcanum demo, dr. jekyll demo, IMP vollversion (i assume full version) and the final fantasy trailer.) the magazine is freakin cool as my ass in a thong on the beach and very well made, going to take a peep at the software later today. just wanted to let you guys what i got since a few of you had asked earlier.

ewwwwwww and stuff not on the lable...
5 random sentence generators, 10 fantasy plot generators, 5 story gemerators, 170 interactive fiction stories, and 50 full version bots...hmmmmmmmmmm sounds like fun.

also what i could make out in the letter they sent me with my package there is this bot that has over 100,000 keyphrases and answers... sheesh and i was proud KT got over 2000.

The defendant over another canyon:
A cashier wakes up, and the fruit cake trembles; however, the federal eggplant steals pencils from some light bulb. Now and then, the tripod derives perverse satisfaction from a grain of sand beyond the vacuum cleaner. Another outer jersey cow lazily bestows great honor upon a treacherous ski lodge.

I too wish we could make our bots talk to people, but there shouldn't be a limit. Rather, there should be a limit to how many people a bot can talk to at once, and I think there already is.

By the way, 100,000 keyphrases is good and nice, but it's the engine that matters.

Damn straight, Kirby. If you say you live in the South and the stupid bot says "That was a long time ago" every time you mention the South, the number of keyphrases really doesn't matter.

Wanna know my secret? I know I'm still missing some important keyphrases (which I can never remember until I feel like putting them in), but most of the ones I have have at least 7 responses. Looks kinda cute when a bot keeps feeding her one line over and over and every time she responds differently.

Speaking of which, I just had an interesting idea. How about adding a random factor to keyphrase ranking? Like you could have one of them ranked at 10(+/-5) or something, so if someone repeatedly tells your bot a sentence that includes several keyphrases, you never really know which one it's gonna respond to. Of course it'd hafta be used carefully, but I think it could add a lot of flexibility and realism if used right.
