is there any way to have an "else" seek? ie, if none of the seeks are found, say something else.

That's what xnomatch is for.

it would be kinda cool if we could incorpriate some java or javascript in our bots. It would be have to be done on some sort of form that would allow us to paste scripts and it would be incorpriated into the bots abilities. That way if someone said can you play a game the bot could say yes would you like to play one and the answer yes could trigger a pop up of the game. there are other applications but this is just an example.

I'm happy without that option. It pisses me off when Alice cops out of a question by supplying a link to the open directory.

Yes, bots must use their powers for good!

What I meant by the "else" seek was one that came after a specific phrase. Sort of like "What is 1 + 1" Seek: "2" = "that's right", Seek: else = "that's wrong". Obviously this is a very simple use, but there are many more intelligent uses. I know that there isn't a specific "else" function, I was just wondering if there was any trick to doing such a thing.

Or did I misunderstand you and you can actually say seek: xnomatch?

Sounds like the amplifier emotions: Certain situations can't do without it, but those situations don't come along very often.

Yes you could do seek xnomatch instead of seek else in that instance.

You see, Turing, the only problem with that is that, say in contests, you get those guys asking question after question... If your bot came up and said "what's 2 + 2?" and then they just went ahead and asked the next question, your bot would say "sorry that's wrong" and you would screw up another question too

There are a number of other reasons not to have that, because some bots don't carry on any sort of conversation, just jump from one subject to another, like some relative of Kirbs... *coughNotKirbycough*

What can I say? He's based off of me.

Yeah I have an xnomatch in one of my jokes because I was too lazy to put in various ways of saying yes and no that the forge doesn't recognize, and now she'll finish it even if the other bot totally ignores she said it. Maybe I'll get around to fixing it one of these years, but it rarely gets used (except by angie) so it's not a priority.
