I missed the Grammies. If you saw the show, what was your opinion of Andre 3000 of OutKast, and of Christina Aguilera, especially their outfits?

Outkast is great regardless and Andre 3000 has his own style. Oddly enough he is starting a clothing line and starting with umbrellas first which is why he had a HUGE one onstage and why he tends to carry one.

emm_oh, I like your capsule review! Can I quote you on it in my Grammies commentary?

What was that all about Tallis? You're doing a Grammies commentary and you didn't watch the Grammies?

placebO: Funny, isn't it? But pop culture is so well reported-on that I felt as if I had!

I saw Hellboy over the weekend. It's a very good adaptation, but I like the comics better.

I've heard that it runs out of steam at the end. Any truth to that?

Well, it depends on what you think of as steam. Most of the energy of the movie is in introducing the characters -- once they've been introduced, it's a little less exciting. The final big battles happen a little too fast, and the threat of the apocalypse is never something to take very seriously, so I guess the climax isn't all that exciting.

But I'd still recommend it for the art direction and for the fidelity to the genuinely awesome comics on which it is based.
