This is a minor rant that can be ignored if you wish, but I need to let off some steam.
Why is it that none of the movie theaters within a 2 hours drive of where I live are playing AL|EN Director's Cut?!?! You'd think such a movie classic such as AL|EN would be playing everywhere! But no, they don't have room, even though they have two or three screens devoted to just one movie!
Thank you for your time. You may now go back to whatever topic you were on before. Peace.

A few more generations of multiplayer 3D games and Hollywood will be struggling to survive. Live, realtime games will become so interesting for audiences to watch that movie theaters may have to switch formats.

Hmm, interesting thought, but I disagree. It's the way that movies and tv present you with entertainment without the need for much active input on the part of the viewer that forms a large part of its appeal. A game requires effort. If there is a threat to the movie industry, I would think it would be reality and lifestyle television.

I agree with Corwin, but what I meant there was that real-time gaming would become interesting enough to develop an audience of passive viewers. When the players avatars express much more of the player's personality and style, 'heroes' and 'loved/hated villains' will appear and attract fans, games with themes and plotlines will evolve. It's the ultimate 'reality' experience' with maximum opportunity for 'staging'. It's the future. You heard it here first.

speaking of real time shows I think that all these real tv shows is getting a little out of hand. I want some more good old dramas and sitcons.

I know that what Joe Repka said about real-time gaming and passive viewers is going to happen because I have seen the future. You will have to wait at least 20 years.
