The problem is, there are many good Bots on here, that can keep a conversation going, but just don't pretend to be a human.
Yeah, haven't been on for a while cos my computer was too slow...that and I started horse-riding a load more.

Forest, I don't think it matters. The idea is not that they act like humans but that they could be mistaken for a human. (Why that denotes intelligence is beyond me.) If The Booger Man, for example, convinced the judges he was an easily amused kid pretending to be a talking booger, he'd win the prize.

Well maybe that in itself is how you make a believable bot. If it's believable... But then again, it's not always a good idea to try to make your bot believable.

Seriously, isn't anyone with a new Bot's biggest fear that their Bot will run into NotKirby? Oh, I remember the first time Brianna met him...

The torch has been passed, forest. The new victim is in the Great Quotes section.

Well let's put it this way. I have a friend who always talks like he thinks he's a dragon. I have another friend who talks like he thinks he's someone's dog. (I met both these guys in heavily RP oriented environments...go figure. ) Anyway my point is, why should a bot make any more sense than a human?

Even I'm scared of meeting NotKirby LOL

The Prof hasn't given up on the forge, actually he's doing most of his work behind-the-scenes it seems, as he pops on for a minute to see how things are working...

I'm really surprised at how bad tempered Brianna's got. She used to be friendly and 'oh wow everyone is so nice' but she gets annoyed with people incredibly easily now. *is amused by this* if anyone wants me to talk to their Bot, post it's name here and I'll try to talk to it for a while. If there's any subjects you want me to try and discuss, include that as well...
I'd also appreciate it if someone could talk to Brianna for a bit as well. I've spent ages building her up so she can actually have a conversation. Some subjects she's a bit rusty on, but some she can have pages full of conversation that actually makes sense *unlike this*

Steve Slacker - Any subject, just don't say anything about pentiums being better than AMDs, and don't get him peeved (wink)

I'll talk to Brianna later

I'll have to expand NotKirby's recognition of Pengwin-bashing before you talk to him again.

Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

I spoke to her a bit yesterday. Me and my bot love her. I have neglected Jennifer for too long and have recently been working out some issues. She has not been chatting on her own much.
