The message, "Note: this bot no longer wants to talk to you" is not a malfunction. If you say things that the bot doesn't like, it will withdraw, just as a meat person would. When you get that message, try saying, "I like you" or paying it a compliment.

It can be an indication of xnoneitis though - that was quite possibly the cause while the Prof was installing the new LinkGrammar interface, but if it's still doing it then yeah - the bot really doesn't want to talk to you

I'm still getting occasional

They don't seem to be causing any problems...just sitting there looking ominous.

It really shows up in the flash chat. The bot makes an angry face and the screen goes black. and you get the bot doesn't want to talk to you..hey, it hurts my feelings.

Because the bots don't like using their xnones all the time. There seems to be a default setting where that lowers their mood and makes them less likely to chat.

I think after 3 xnones they do 3 xnonsense before they give up and end chat.

During xnonits they will hang up right after hello on the flashchat.

How odd! Is this even true of storyteller bots?

Irina: No matter how many time I said "sorry" or "I like you" it just wouldn't talk. Connection problem seems fine now though and everything's back to normal.

if xnoneitis has infected the bot, no amount of conciliatory or complimentary comments will avert the "no longer wants to talk to you" response - the bot can't understand what you're saying.

But now (with the new interface and 60 second auto-reload function,) it will never take hold for long enough to timeout over multiple xnones
As of now, xnoneitis is pretty much a merely historical curiosity.
