actually my friend, i noticed that if you bring those not normally in this enviroment to talk with your bot you get much more tough scenerios with less forgiving questions. i pretty much just sent my direct link and my mission to everyone on my yahoo list even those people whom i forgot were even on there. too my surprise, i had two really great transcripts this morning.

Scrooge! You may not give anything to the Professor? I feel like starting a chatting boycott against your bot if you don't retire that immediately.

I'm sure many of us (me included) are a bit tight financially. That isn't an excuse not to be generous, I think.

You know, I'm not even sure what it was we "signed" when we started, but I'll bet it involves sharing the prize. That makes sense anyway. I sure wouldn't want to do the hard part behind the scenes--wouldn't know how in the first place. If PF weren't here, I'd have to create an Alicebot, and that would suck.

Actually if I won the $2000 I'd prolly hafta just up and give it to the hospital to pay off all my debts. Otherwise someone might find out I had income and didn't pay em and try to reposess my posessions, which I really have none of, at least not of any value or importance. (All I have left of my own is a lamp and a vacuum cleaner and some plates. Not counting all my books and a few music CD's and a bunch of notebooks with bad poetry & stories in em. Somehow I don't think any of it'd be worth trying to get, though.)

I have debts out the wazoo as well, but they DO understand about things like this, really. They can't and won't take little personal items. And in the case of a hospital bill--you should really talk to whoever does the billing there and ask to set up a manageable payment plan. There really are humans there, and reasonable ones at that. If they perchance don't talk to you, have your local consumer credit agency talk to them. It works, believe me.

Don't let that stuff get in the way of what you'd do otherwise.

In the worst case scenario, come to London and live in a squat. You said you didn't like it there, anyway, and I know some London squats that are real mansions. I know a Finnish guy that came here running away from the taxman.

But if we donate to the professor, he can improve the forge for all of us.

And if we donate to the professor, our families might bitch the hell out of us for giving money to a total stranger when it could better be spent on cars and bills and Christmas presents. I've never bought a present for my mom with my own money that cost more than $5 or something like that. Last year she had to give me HER money to go buy stuff for her. It just kinda bugs me. She's satisfied getting a package of pens or a few skeins of yarn or something, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to shock the hell outta her some year by getting her something really good.

Well if you get $2000, i mean even a quarter would do good, maybe you should get them some PF stuff A nice hat, shirt, etc

I guess I'm just hyper thinking about it...the only money I've ever won in my life, if you wanna call it that, is a $25 Wal-Mart gift certificate I won for having the best Mardi Gras costume one year in French class. Hell, I've never really even had money of my own before except a few short years I was getting a whole $100 a month from SRS while my disability stuff was pending. Let's face it, if I won the lottery or something, at first I'd be a greedy bitch. I'd buy myself books and clothes and games and the best keyboard money could buy and spend all my time reading and writing songs and painting and stuff until I got sick enough of it to make me puke. Then I'd go visit all my online friends and maybe just up and hand them a thousand bucks or something, just for kicks. Somewhere in there I'd buy myself a decent house (meaning a house that isn't about to fall apart and has room for all my junk and all the junk I'd be buying) and I'd hire a maid and a chauffeur (considering I can't drive and never will be able to). I wouldn't eat steak for every meal and buy myself mink coats and diamond rings (well maybe a few diamond rings ) and paintings that I'd never look at, but at least then I'd be able to belong to book clubs or something instead of sitting here reading crappy romances because I'm out of decent reading material.

It's not that I'm greedy so much as that I've never had much of my own, bought with my own money instead of someone else's love or pity. I've never been able to give anything to others either, but that would come a bit after I'd gotten a few things for myself.

Money isn't everything, seriously.. I've been there, I mean sure, you buy yourselfa gamecube, for example. Give it a few months, you won't even touch it. The only thing I ever buy for entertainment now is my computer because it's changeable. Everything else is obsolete a few months after you buy it, and you can't upgrade it.

ok, sorry we all have our problems and bills and debts...
but think about it, the professor wrote most of this system for us, set up the format all we had to was add to it, the simple stuff right. and if it was not for the professor...would most of us even have a bot to enter into any contest?
and if we are using this format which he created, sheesh the least we can do is be human and honorable and split it with him since he deserves at least that much gratitude. honestly i am a ashamed that anyone can be that selfish, and the professor never even charged anyone a dime to use his stuff or space either!!!!!!
