Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

I am not sure I understand the problem Tester, but usually it's a matter of ranking a keyphrase. If you have one that is "are you" one that is 'are you (going|trying)' and one that is 'blackmail' you would normally rank the most specific ones higher than the others. You would want your bot to pick up "are you trying to blackmail me?' More that "are you". If the blackmail keyphrase is showing when you do not want it to. reduce the rank.

Okay, I'll adjust the rank to the corresponding keyphrase to the seek that has "blackmail" in it. Thanks Prob123!

Hey can anyone explain how to talk to Goddess Brenda I'm new at this and it want to know if it's an error in the programming or if the AI just hasn't learned enough yet?

Greg222, if you look at that bot's profile, you'll see its development level is only 2, and that it is very young. That means, chances are, it is not much more than a just created bot yet.

Then how does development work?

Also for some reason whenever I talk to a bit they call me by my username constantly when they should say you or their name when they should say I.

How you develop a bot - see The Book of AI (http://www.personalityforge.com/book.php)

How the Development level is calcualted - The Professor doesn't reveal the exact formula, afaik, but as a general rule we can say, the more different answers a bot has, the higher the development level.

As to the funny behavior of the bots, see Bot Holiday ("Why Is My Bot Speaking In An Accent?") in the FAQs at http://www.personalityforge.com/faq.php#14 and/or the little hint at the top right of the News page. And the top of every chat window.

Yep, it's "Hulk day." Which means all the bots are talking like Hulk does. Or at least most of the bots are.

Hi everyone! I was wondering if there's a way to turn off the auto-log off thing when you are inactive. Some times, I'll be "in the zone" and typing away, filling in responses and having a blast. Then all of sudden when I'm all done, it tells me that I need to "log-in" and everything I typed is gone forever.

UGH! It's so infuriating! I guess I'll just type up responses in Word and copy and paste them or something next time...

Well, as we can read on the page http://www.personalityforge.com/newsall.php, the Prof set the session timeout up to 40 minutes on May 24, 2012, but it seems to have gone down to 10 minutes or so since.

Tester323, depending on your browser, it might help to log in in a different window, and then use the Back function of your browser in the window where you worked on your bot. Or, you open a PF page in a different brwoser window (and log in there, if you aren't any longer).

There is also the way to export your bot's mindfile and work on it offline, then re-import the modified file. (I personally use Notepad++ for this.) Working offline has at least one further advantage (additionally to no more problems with session timeouts): you don't have to double every backslash in the keyphrase you're working on and in every single response to that keyphrase.

Hey ya'll just started and I don't know how to chat with my cousin using this. Know how???

11 years ago #6281
Well..... the intended way here at the Personality Forge would be, you create a bot that is as much like you as possible and send your cousin the link to it, and/or your cousin creates a bot that is as much like him/her as possible and let him/her send the link to that bot to you.

If one of you encountered issues with a bot, you could address each other by the built-in chat function, just like you'd talk to a bot here.

If you want a direct online chat from human to human, I'd recommend any human-to-human chatroom on the web, or download your own chat software and run your own server.
