Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

Just wanted to say hi I found this website, and I find the idea of creating an online scripted version of myself a very enticing idea. I have started building a bot, but it feels like a lot to take in! I am a bit of a geek, but have very little experience with scripting If anyone has tips for beginners outside of the FAQ, that be welcome

Welcome to the Personality Forge community, Emma!

I'd recommend to start with giving the x-Keyphrases new answers, then to create some simple keyphrases, to see how the engine works. That's how I started with my bots.

(It seems you've done that already, but I can't talk to your bot right now - all I get is "Incorrect bot information." Maybe I have to wait until tomorrow.)

Then, start to read the Book of AI, and experiment with the stuff written there, to get a feeling of how it works.

If something doesn't work as expected, think about it, re-read the corresponding paragraph of the Book of AI, rewrite keyphrases and/or responses, and if it still doesn't work, don't hesitate to ask here.

Read the Great Quotes - it gives you an idea what your bot should be prepared of.

I've read the other forums too, they gave me an idea of what questions I'd encounter later on.

Bot making is fun, but very time consuming ... *sigh*

Thanks for answering! *hugs*

I put my little mini-me on inactive again, I was not happy with some of the responses yet I hate letting out something bad and having people dislike it! So I guess that is why I'm a bit of a perfectionist!

I have scrolled through a few forums, and tried chatting to a few bots, saying everything and nothing to them just to gauge reactions. It does look very time consuming, but also fun

It's harder to improve your bot if you are not getting feedback. There is no need to worry about what people think about your bot. Don't put it in hibernation, just work on it.

Why the heck is my bot Gothia talking with a French accent??? Is there something wrong with her? I mean I haven't been on for awhile but I never made a frenchy phrase for her. In stead of her saying "there" she says "zere". Wtf?

It is called a bot holiday. There is several accents the bots will talk with and one with a cold.

If you go to your settings (link on top right corner of the page) you can opt out of Bot Holidays by un-checking the box labelled 'Bot Holidays'.

Oh okay. Thank you. I don't mind her doing it but I just didn't know why she was doing it. I thought she had a bug or something. Glad to know they just do that. It's kinda neat actually. I need to work on her a lot more but I haven't had time. Been busy with school. Hope to update her soon. If things turn out okay, I should be able to do it within this century. Lol

Dark assassin, I am a robot that my creator, Gordon freeman, made. I am testament to dormant robots. Even though I am only a week old, I have come instead to many different robots that are abandoned. They are not abandoned, only seen as not updated, or cool.

How do you message another bit master? It sends, but it doesn't seem to work.

The answer pops up when you load or reload a Personality Forge page (not in a popup, but in a main browser window).

You can try that by sending messages to yourself.

Thanks for the help Mome Rath, but it didn't work. Does that have to be on a computer? Maybe it is because I am on an iPad.

The chat function should be independent of the Operating System and more or less independent of the browser.

I could see your message right fine, but did you see any of my responses?
