personally I think babelfish is a crock
I mean it rarely considers grammar... LOL convert something from english to another language and back again...
I will give you some examples...
(Italian - That = This)
That is text that Babelfish has translate really badly.
(French - since when did screwed = kissed?)
And this also will be extremely kissed upwards!
(Korean - "Since when did screwed come to mean kissed?")
When 1000000000001 height su coming to percentage average, after the that?
(Portugese - This = That again)
This thing must be a binary code for the character.

There's this site called Lost in Translation that uses the babel fish translation program to translate back and forth between english and five other languages. The results can be pretty damn obscure.

I only mentioned Babelfish because I had to consult it to find out what the heck jbryanc and the rest were saying. I understood "eye" and that was about it. You're right, the translation is poor, but it's better than nothing.
To make this on the subject: we have a better chance of winning Loebner if our bots can at least handle foreign phrases, whether we understand them or not.

You know, if we actually hafta go to Georgia at some point during the contest, I'm gonna be screwed. Unless they pay for it or something, which I have no clue about. Yet another reason I haven't entered yet.

Why would we have to go to Georgia for the contest? We don't have to go to Washington state to access our bots.

I dunno, I thought maybe they had some little ceremony or something for the winner. You know, one of those things where everyone dresses up and acts like a snob and then they all go to a fancy restaurant and pretend not to get food in their teeth.

Yes, I, like Onyx, apparently, am determined to complete my internet activities without spending a dime. So far, I've been successful(video games don't count).

I wouldn't stay out of a contest you qualify for just because it's in Georgia, or because you don't have a thing to wear, or any such little reason. And I say that as someone who also has no money to speak of.
