Hi Clerk, Thanks for all the great conversations with my bot! Don't feel you have to hibernate your bot until it's ready, you get so much input from the transcripts.

Okay, you're going to get tired of this, but . . .
(a) my bot's transcripts don't come up except for today's chats with _me_, even though I know they've been talking to other bots because they have memories of them.
(b) Guildenstern jumps into xinitiate when I have initiated the conversation.
(c) Even when I actually initiate a coversation and he has jumped to xinitiate (like, "I've been dying to talk to you."), I'll say sure, what's happened, or whatever, and then
(d) be informed that my own bot no longer wants to speak with me. And I generally say good things to my own bots. It's kind of hard to debug them when you don't know what's going on, either from a transcript or an actual conversation.
Any takers?

You may have to email the professor about the transcripts. There was a time when half the Forge did not get transcripts for some time.
I have never really figured out the initiate thing..sometimes it jumps to xnones etc., sometimes seeks work on xinitiate sometimes they don't.
As for debug, just read it and one day it begins to make sense.(more or less)

When the Forge is being particularly buggy, sometimes bots will simply "no longer want to chat" regardless of what you say to them.
When things are working, that generally comes up if the bot has gone through three xnones, an xnonsense, and still doesn't recognize anything the chatter types in. Basically, if the bot doesn't recognize any words or phrases for several exchanges, it gets "frustrated" and stops chatting.
If it's coming up right at the beginning of a chat, it's almost always a bug.

The Clerk:
How is your bot's "mood" rating? It may be just a superstition, but I have the idea that a bot may go into "no longer wants to talk to you" when it is sufficiently unhappy. They always seem to come back when I compliment them. So make sure that you have some positive "emotion" numbers here and there.

There are certain responses that are automated. There are also others that are known as xkeyphrases. If you haven't done any work on these then they'll still be the defaults. They cover stuff like responses to greetings and when the bot doesn't understand.
