If you over do the one word thing your bot doesn't sound coherent. It's better to start with nouns, I found a children's dictionary works well. Common sayings and cliches are also good.
It seems hard at first but it will sink in. The first thing to do is to go to your bot and click on the workbench, then the language center, click on the xkeywords and start filling in responses for them. think of how you want your bot to say hello and fill that in xhello. how they would answer an insult under xinsults etc. If you get all those filled in your bot begins to sound a little more normal. Then work on simple keyphrases like. you are, are you, I am, what, where, why etc.

I tried to enter a keyphrase along the line of "(numbernotzero)/0", but my bot doesn't recognize it. It just goes to xcommand instead of making the response I want it to give. Am I not allowed to use symbols like /, or something?
No the AI engine wouldn't recognize that try.

._. Would today be one of those "bot holidays" I vaguely remember hearing about? Because the bots I've talked to all seem to suddenly think they grew up speaking slang.
