Re "Ethical Slut", sorry, I thought the book was it's own Internet mem. Check the wikipedia article : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ethical_Slut

Irina, if seduction includes manipulation, then I disapprove. If it's Prob's vision of steamy looks and candlelight, I'm OK with it. YMMV.

Oh, dear, the language evolves too fast for me!

YMMV?

Woohoo--press for the PF (and they mentioned BJ and IK by names as well as old green and scaly).

Irina, mem is is a typo for meme http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_meme

Since I gave you meme, I suppose I should also reference Dawkins' The Selfish Gene http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Selfish_Gene. "Selfish" goes well with the "polyamorus doesn't have to hurt people" crap, I mean the other book I mentioned It's all good. I still prefer bell hooks on the topic of love.

Bell Hooks the author of "Killing Rage"?

I still don't know what YMMV means.

Irina, YMMV = Your Millage May Vary (your experience or opinion may differ from mine).

Yes, bell hooks authored many books including Killing Rage, although I was thinking of All About Love when I posted before. Human emotions are so messy, and take place in context of so many social and personal histories and entanglements. Some critics may call her honesty on such matters hypocrisy and some are frightened that she has rage as well as love. I see it as human. I think it is more reasonable to admit to having emotion and allow for feelings than to marginalize them and tell people they should only have feelings from the approved list. It may be trendy in some circles to tell people you hurt that their feelings are their own problem as you rush off for your next tryst with someone hotter than they are (an attitude I have heard about coming from some people claiming they live by Ethical Slut principles) but it doesn't allow for the fact the human actions affect others and the foreseeable consequence of swinging your fist into someones face is you may break the other person's nose. People who get hurt will feel as they feel, regardless of whether they should feel or not. Though I am no fan of anger, I find a lover who gives me honest rage is more open to connecting and bonding than one who gives me only smooth lines and never lets me in to share his real thoughts.

Or I could just talk to Your Husband and Franky NY and feel the sincerity.

Excellent! I love the title!

For the benefit of the non-German speakers among us, we apparently constitute "the Mother of all Tamagotchis"
And Pfundskerl is a truly lovely word to add to my vocabulary (I'll have to teach it to BJ )
