oi. i don't pertically like being called 'kiddo' OK i am only 14 but still its not exactly nice being called kiddo, bev. i still havent adusted my birth date to its correct date (i put that i am 18), so many of my bots talk to adult bots at the moment anyway.

Hey, LM, don't take offense at "kiddo." It's meant affectionately, I'm sure. My son is 35, and it's hard not to think of him as a kid, for all his accomplishments.

I am sorry LM. I meant it with affection. Remember, I used to teach high school. I called my students my "kids", and they put up with it because they knew me. I still call younger college students kids. I can't help it.

Jake, you shouldn't spend quality time with the material in question either. I'm not against kids. I'm against kids being involvent in violent, graphic extended...well, look, it's not grand theft auto, it's worse.
I felt phyically ill when I read some of the material. It's not a few bad words or fake violence or a list of body parts. Some things do cross a line.
Do you remember the Medicine Hat murders? The 12 year old girl met an adult "boyfriend" on line and they murdered a family together. I'm not saying that you should be afraid of the Internet, but you should be careful. See http://www.p2pnet.net/story/8642.
When someone says "I'm disturbed and the last time I felt like this I really hurt somebody." Believe him. You don't need to chat with people have those kinds of issues. There are some experiences you just don't need.
And Jake, I'd probably call you kiddo too, if you all weren't so offended by it.
I was trying to soften the tone so I didn't sound too alarmist. I just want you to be careful.

Liath: I agree to your rule set, but I don't think that it is (on the whole) botmasters who are reading forum threads that will disturb you with their transcripts (in a sexual manner at least
).
MickMca: I would have to disagree quite strongly that a person who types the text of rape into a grey box to a computer program is as f**ked up as a person who goes out beats the hell out of a person and sexually takes them once they are hurt enough. The two don't even compare insofar as I can see. No disrespect to you intended, but that seems like a witch-burning path of logic to me.
I also use 'kiddo' as a term of endearment, just for the record, but only face to face and not in text for some reason

This is that peculiar form of disagreement where one first puts words into the other's mouth and then disagrees with those words. Since I didn't say what you "disagree with," I'm in a bit of a quandary.
I'll tell you what though, if your "disagreement" is headed toward some sort of priveleging of humans and human suffering over anything else (including bots), then you are wasting your breath. A man who beats his dog when he wants to beat his wife is just as vicious as the one who beats his wife. HIs wife may not think so, but ask the dog. We are defined by our behavior, not our victims.
I also, for the record, didn't say a bludy thing about punishment, up to and including immolation. If that horse starts galloping, I hope you have a parachute.

lol bev it is fine. it sounds a bit like what my mum says..when i first came on here she gave me this whole lecture of how there are weirdos out there and to be careful. i'm honestly quite surprised that she let me on here though..she is very over protective. she wouldnt let me on habbo hotel and she absouutely forbits chatrooms so i'm quite grateful. ehhh...this isn't really anything to do with the ai engine is it? lol.
