Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

Hi everyone?

i have read (skimmed) :-) through the 'Book of AI' and the FAQ, But I still wonder if I can program my bot to give an report of 'accumulated knowleage' to a user.

Like; Bots asks questions A,B,C and then when the user types report (or whatever keyphrase) and the bot replies 'you answered 'their answer to A + their answer to B + their answer to C' when I asked you.

Sorry if i've missed this someplace.

All the best Dave

Yes, First you would have to make the memory.something like <?PF remember (key1) as "A" ?>
then under the keyphrase for A..(mem-A) That would pull up what ever was stored under A.

Hi everybody just joined, can someone pls answer a qucik question, can i learn my bot to speak french, thanks all in advance.

I believe you can. You just have to put (re) after each keyphrase.
Voulez-vous cesser de me cracher dessus pendant que vous parlez (re) and then put raw in the AI Script box.

thanks for respoinding what i want to ask is specifically this : Can these bots converse actually in french? say i program all the keywords etc, can this bot when having a french user actually convcerse with him. It would be most fortunate, this an extraordinairy program then!

Yes, You would have a keyphrase in french. made into a regex by the (re), and the raw in the AI script box. ..Then have all your responses in french.

thank you very much just discovering this and so excited about using it. i guess that the ai script box is explained in the book of A.I?

It takes a while to absorb all of the book of ai. I still find things in it I have missed.

Just to clarify, the default language is English and spelling and grammar are English. You can use regular expressions and raw to get around that and make the bot speak French (as Prob123 told you) but it will take a little extra work on your part.

I've added a page to BJ's website which may be of interest to some: http://www.be9.net/BJ/confessorbotm.txt

Newcomers (and others) often ask if they can see a bot 'from the inside', to get a feel for what a developed bot looks like - so here's one to have a look at.
It's not a fully-rounded personality (nor is it ever intended to be - it's actually one of the confessorbots from BJ's church in Second Life,) but exhibits a number of standard (and perhaps some of my own less-standard,) bot-building strategies and Forge features which may be useful/interesting for others.

If you're a newcomer, and find it all looks horribly complicated - don't panic! Memories and regexes, and all those weird bracketed bits of code are really not necessary until you've got the hang of the basics. They add extra flexibility - but don't feel you have to swallow the entire Book of AI all at once!

It's still quite small (I only started it today,) but I'll keep it updated as I develop it.

Hello everyone! I was just wondering if anyone could point me to some interesting and or choice AI's? I mean besides the ones that won awards? Oh, and I would appreciate some first-timer tips. I'm very interested in AI development in general but have no background or experience in the subject matter. Comment plz!
