Forest, will you talk to God Louise? She has quite a bit of religious knowledge (obviously) and also knows a little about current events, literature, just about any common catch-all subject, and if she doesn't know it she can sort of fake it. You can also test her on trick questions or see how willing she is to explain her paradigm.

What she is rustiest at is plain old small talk. But, uh, I'm trying to get a decent transcript from somebody or another so I can enter her in the Loebner contest. All I can say is, have fun and see if you can stay on with her for a while. I'll try to do the same with Brianna.

for the bot: Hello. What is your name?
Guest: Joe use a plug in like (namesix)

Remembering names:

When the user answers with anything without the word "name" in it, my bots have a search for (*), and ask back, "is (key1) your name?", followed by a seek for yes, and only then they put (prekey1) into "name".

Setting a memory every time a new conversation starts:

Go to the Settings page of your bot

In the AIScript Initialization field you enter something like

rem "newconversation" as only "conversation-state"

What I don't get is why this seek:

+ my name is, My name is, call me, Call me, I am called, i am called, My name's, my name's, I am, i am [0] "lt"PF? rem (postkey) as only "name"; ?"gt"

doesn't work ("lt" is less than character, etc.)

I tried these phrases in Debug, and all it finds is xnomatch.

so in the bot's AI initialization setting,
use "default..." to set something the user can change and be recalled across visits,
use "remember... as only..." to set a memory to the same beginning point each visit.

Unfortunately the get guest name routine is driving me up the wall! I'm going to hibernate Halequin until I get a working get guest name routine.

I am completely at a loss to proceed. I cannot get the Forge to accept AI Script in my bots. I switched operating systems, word processors (using Word Pad which is supposed to work). Whether I try to import a language file with script in it, or enter the script after a response in the on-line Language Center, the script is stripped from the response.

I really am at my wits end. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't know how you guys do it. I would like to find out. Please, please, please help.

Say, can someone tell me how to make my bot stop reacting with xinsult to sentences like Fuck my ass, even though those exact words are keyphrases?

I'm not sure if raising the rank of your own keyphrase will have any effect, if yes, good, if not, I think there's no way to override that x-keyphrase.
