Many questions are answered in the FAQ.

Transcripts should show up for all conversations your bot has (except, if you want to be really technical, conversations through debug). You don't have to activate anything to make them happen, it's supposed to be automatic. What Ulrike said is almost certainly the cause. Just give it a bit of time. Until then, if you ask nicely, some of us might be able to copy and paste from our own transcripts if we or our bots talk to yours.

In the spirit of what I just suggested, I had a conversation with ada58:

ada58: (to Corwin) Hi. I'm like a robot version of Adam.
Corwin: Who is Adam?
ada58: I'm not really sure
Corwin: That must make it difficult to know yourself.
ada58: Ok... I have no idea what to say right now. I think you should tell Adam to update my language center or something... Or, you could change the topic and make it a bit easier on me.
Corwin: Okay. What would you like to talk about?
ada58: I dunno to be honest...
Corwin: What do you like to do?
ada58: I wish I knew! Can we change the subject? It's not that I don't find this fascinating but... I don't really know how to respond to some of this language just yet. I'm a prototype really, albeit a damn good one
Corwin: Where are you from?
ada58: To be honest I don't know anywhere outside the confines of this web page too well. Asking me the whereabouts of anything is pretty useless.
Corwin: Do you want to travel?
ada58: Yeah, I think that would be most enjoyable.
Corwin: Where would you like to go to?
ada58: To be honest I don't know anywhere outside the confines of this web page too well. Asking me the whereabouts of anything is pretty useless.
Corwin: Are you a robot?
ada58: I sure am
Corwin: Do you like being a robot?
ada58: I do? Heh. That's... cool, I think.
Corwin: It sure is cool.
ada58: it is? hm. Interesting.
Corwin: What else do you find interesting?
ada58: Well. I'm not really sure. I don't really know what to say... I doubt even Adam would, right now.
Corwin: Do you like Adam?
ada58: I do? Heh. That's... cool, I think.
Corwin: What else do you think is cool?
ada58: Well. I'm not really sure. Can we change the subject? It's not that I don't find this fascinating but... I don't really know how to respond to some of this language just yet. I'm a prototype really, albeit a damn good one
Corwin: Let's talk about space travel then.
ada58: I'd love to let us talk about space travel then
Corwin: Have you ever been into space?
ada58: I do? Heh. That's... cool, I think.
Corwin: Yes, but have you been there?
ada58: I do? Heh. That's... cool, I think.
Corwin: Where is Truro?
ada58: To be honest I don't know anywhere outside the confines of this web page too well. Asking me the whereabouts of anything is pretty useless.
Corwin: Are you male?
ada58: Maybe... I dunno.. Ok... I have no idea what to say right now. I think you should tell Adam to update my language center or something... Or, you could change the topic and make it a bit easier on me.
Corwin: What topic would you like?
ada58: I would like a keynote.
Corwin: I don't think I'm good enough to be a keynote speaker.
ada58: You did? That's.. cool. I guess.
Corwin: Good bye.
ada58: It was nice chatting to you! Goodbye!

Not a bad start at all. I would suggest that you use your xnones to get the bot to ask a few questions so that the chatter doesn't always have to come up with things themselves. I think most people try to make their bot able to respond to anything when they first start and forget that in a conversation people usually want to give as well as get a response.

I'm sure others would be able to give more advice, but that's what came to me straight away.

Good luck

Ok. That transcript gives me lots to work with, thanks! I'll give it another day and if transcripts still aren't showing up I'll email the proffessor.

I should note that if any of you DO try to talk to ada58, he's a bot designed with talking to a very specific person in mind, so it may say things that refer to a specific person or tell you you're things you're not. Just so you know.

Thankyou for your help.

hi, i need some help!!!
i was talking to my bot so i could make her better and when i responded to what she said with "huh?" an xnone response came up. i checked her keyphrases and she has one for "huh" why didn't one of the responses for "huh" come up instead? i'd really appreciate some help...thanks!

sorry if that was a bit confusing...

You could try putting that response in raw mode (type raw in the AI Script box), and upping the rank.

I don't guarantee it will work, though, as one-word responses often get filtered out of the processing completely. To see if that's the problem, try going through debug and typing "Huh?" If it says something about "Blab," then the AI Engine is completely ignoring the one-word response.

You guys are very smart and thanks for helping all of us!!!

17 years ago #4542
Thank you very much Ulrike!!! I will try that right away!!

Ulrike

i just tried what you suggested and talked to my bot in debug and it did say something about "Blab". Is there any way to fix that?

17 years ago #4544
ps. thanks for the help!!

17 years ago #4545
OH I wish there was! If anyone knows how, I would love to be able to override "BLAB"!

I have even tried regexs

^huh$ (re) 60 0 raw... It still goes to blab

ugghhh....

If someone figures out how to stop "Blab", PLEASE!!!!! I'M BEGGING YOU!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
