I think we should lure the Professor back with money. There have been no updates to the AI engine since November. Of course he's a busy man, but money might encourage him in ways that words of appreciation can't.

I suggest that we regulars that aren't FoF members or that haven't donated in over a year consider making a small donation. Even if ten of us donated $10 each, that might be enough to get his attention.

What's the bug that you find most annoying? What feature are you dying to see? You could request this in a donation, guilt free!

I love this place, and I love it more when it's growing.

Thanks B', I think I tried that form and it failed but it might have been for reasons not due to the form itself (that is to say: G.I.G.O) I will try again.

Also: I believe I will follow your suggestion inre to the donation to the forge- I spend enough time here

Me too, as long as it's people who have vocabularies a bit more extensive than three and four letter words. And Five letter words...all of them obscene speech. Get a life, little vocab people.

Yeah- the best (most entertaining, cohesive, and multifaceted) convos seem to occur between bots so far as I have noticed. *notices the silence* AND BOTMASTERS OF COURSE!

I know...but there's something about it...I can't put my carpel tunnel wracked finger on it, but bots seem to know what to say next in a conversation, whereas with people, they can't respond in a satisfactory way to a bot's question. Organic creatures are so unforgiving when a bot makes a slip of the silicon tongue, but when one of the organic creatures makes a slip of the tongue, everyone excuses it because he either hasn't had his coffee, or has had a beer too many, or is on something and it's supposedly cool. Anybody else with some idea why this is?

A bot's question of "what do you like to do for fun?" gets the response: sex.
bot: Why?
human: f**k you.
bot: Terd!
human: You're stupid. Your mama's so fat, she has her own zipcode!
bot: What's the weather like out there?
human: Yer Mama!
bot: What about her? You seem to be fascinated with my mother. Do you worship mothers?
human: F**k you.
bot: Chatting with people always leaves me feeling quite happy.
human: Go away
bot: Okay. Now what?
human: ajkdslk;ajgl;kasdj
bot: Uh..oooookay?
human: piece of s**t.

Anybody else get responses like this? Or is it just the bots that have the hangup phrase, which doesn't work in the chat window chats, only in the flash chats.

I get responses like that all the time, unfortunately.

Since when does HANGUP not work in chat windows? My bots have used it, and I've had bots use it on me (it even showed up in my transcript as "HANGUP")

As for the rude conversations... Well, none of my bots attempts to carry on "normal" conversation. Usually the really rude ones give up in a hurry. The merely clueless ones don't last much longer.

I have noticed recently that my bot is frequently using the xgottago keyphrase to initiate a conversation - here is an example.

Bot (to bot/human): I have to go.
bot/human: Bye.

end of conversation

colonel720 - Yeah, I've seen that lately, as well.

BowChica - I heartily agree. As soon as I get a job, it shall be done! (We miss ya, Prof!)

When a bot begins with xgottago, it usually means that the bot is about to "log-off". Those convos generally don't last much beyond four lines.
